True my friend, but when was the car built? That looks like Dave Bell artwork on the firewall to me, in fact the whole car reminds me of a Henry Hirise cartoon.

I totally misunderstood your post, and you are right on with the Dave Bell reference.I think the car looks pretty"fresh" to be built in the 60's but it is following the show rod theme.
Maybe someone will recognize it and chime in.

That car was built in the 90's by my friend Bill Michaelson for his pal Tom. Yes it is Bell artwork on the firewall. The flames must have been added much later,

Got this from Gene Sonnen on another platform just now:

"Gene Sonnen Was a local car from the Twin Cities , went out east years ago , and Bell did do a lot of artwork on it back in the late 1980's . I believe it stared out life as a coupe !"

It was built in the early 90's by my friend Bill Michealson for his friend Tom Durand. Bell did the artwork on the firewall at that time. The flames must have been added by a later owner. The cars name was the Ruby slipper.

^^^^ Don, 'ole buddy, your new pal AL will be HAPPY to "store" your 40 for you.:D

I'm sure many others would be quite happy to do the same!;)

BTW I hope I don't get a bill from Moriarity for copyright infringement because I started an 80th anniversary thread for the 36 Ford!

I love this thread as does so many others. Look for it everyday. Sharing our cars and our experiences is at least half the fun.

The '40 in post #1914 with all the wild flaming, louvered hood, and artwork on the firewall that was still being discussed a couple of posts is quite ornate and elaborate alright, but what I find technically interesting is the radiator with increased height extending up into the hood for increased surface area. Not exactly aesthetically "right" looking, but a good way to gain cooling ability.

Yeah and if my old eyes aren't decieving me, it is narrower in width than a stock '40 radiator? Makes you wonder if they were aiming at more cooling or trying to use an "in-stock" radiator?

Don't do it Don! You'd be stuck driving your beautiful roadster full time which may be a little rough out east.
I appreciate the compliment from someone whose 40 looks as nice as yours,to me they're all beautiful.:)

Anyone got any other shots of the car?
