Original owner Astoria Chas was killed in Vietnam. Although a mere (L-88) stocker, the famous "Ko-Motion" car has been restored to like-new condition in the last few years.

Loudbang as usual some good stuff. Just for the record the last red Vette with the wheels up is Vicious Vette a blown big block that ran against the early funny cars. We have posted on this car in the past so don't want to bore anyone.

The Checkmate 62 above was a really strong running 62 Vette with Booth-Arons power at this time (pretty sure small block although do not remember the CID). It was owned by Paul Mercure who was one of the guys that ran Woodward back in the 60s and went on to a very successful career with a couple of Corvettes and more importantly with a few very successful Camaros as well. I seem to remember him running another early Vette prior to this one but can't seem to remember much about it other than his name (and that it ran strong).

Not sure if this car survives (nor did Vicious Vette that I know of) but the Pooch and The Pizza Man both survive, as well as Astoria Chas.

My swan song. It was fun while it lasted but like my pops always said "when anything stops being fun it's time to get out." One last photo and it exemplifies a Hot Rod corvette.

I probably would have been among the missing soon anyway having a PCS (permanent change of station) coming up shortly. My time will be better spent giving personal good byes to my distractions here and searching for and trying out candidates for new distractions at my new abode.

You did real good Loudbang and we appreciated it. It is a lot of work to do what you did. Some of us appreciate it and others well not so much apparently. Good luck with new distractions. That sounds fun.

As to the last post the car is really representative of the late 60s early 70s. Wonder what the history on the car was? Take care Jim

Loudbang, I watched Doug Juonis run the Hayseed many times.
The car is now restored back to OEM. Known him for 45 years.

Well jeeze thanks guys you would make a grown man blush.
Took the high speed road trip to my new AO over the weekend and got everything ready for the move. So next comes the hard part deciding what is going and what will be trashed or donated. And deciding which old distractions to remove from my little black book (anybody still have one LOL) to make room for the news distractions in the new area.... decisions decisions. :p
