My parents hate coming down I-5 from Burlingame to our house in Canby, they come the "scenic" way and cross on the ferry...

 

When life was Simple, Fun was the objective, not trying to impress someone with flashy parts and paints ..... we just used what we had or could aquire for next to nothing.

That IS the way we did it.... Engine, 4 wheels and a steering wheel. The deluxe seat was a wooden coke box. I particularly liked seeing how fast it would go down an unlit country road with no lights, and radiators are only good for leaking. Body optional.
