Back in the early 70's I bought a 4 yr old 427" Corvette roadster and was told I'd get the title in a week or so. I waited and waited....a few months and many phone calls later, I received a title for a '68 Chev 4 door sedan. I went into the garage, and cut the 'vette into several large pieces, and many little ones. I sold 3 of the larger pieces, (one whole side) to a fiberglass repair shop to hang on his building as advertisement. There have been many more, but most of the rest were too rusty.

Awhile back I bought a '50 AD truck cab for parts.
The local code enforcement folks didn't like me having an "inoperable vehicle" behind my garage.
So I cut it into quarters so that I could store it inside my shed; out of sight.
I still have the parts that I haven't used yet.

What's the statute of limitations for confessing these sins?
I think my stories qualify as crimes.

Yeah, this thread makes me remember a past crime too. We didn't cut it up, but we raised money selling whacks with a sledge hammer for a buck a whack at the county fair. God, I'd love to have that Rambler wagon now. It was easily restorable, but at the time, wagons just weren't cool enough to care. Regrets.

Used to go to junkyards and roll '55 Chevy convertibles on their sides to remove the frames to use underneath our '55 Chevy 2 door sedan stock cars back in the 1970's.

'57 Hardtop given to me as a parts car. Last photo is what was left on it's way to Tony at Tully Auto wreckers for scrap. Taken at my old shop on Montgomery mid 80's

  20. I saw that pair of Cadillacs for sale up here at a swap meet in DFW a few months ago, I think those are the same two cars? Anyway, I don't blame you for cutting it up, but it's kinda sad because the 60 Special (body by Fleetwood) is a unique kinda rare bird in comparison to the regular Cadillacs of the day My pops had several 41 60 specials.

This one we had in the early 80's, 53 Cad overhead and hydro drivetrain.

  21. I wish you lived closer. The firewall forward would make a great A test stand. Already set up to bolt the engine in and the radiator:rolleyes:

I have no problem cutting up cars as long as they are being donors for another one....
Also way long ago when they were not collectible or worth anything doesn't bother me either...
However most anything else is close to a sin...
