This picture's been posted here before but for those that missed it, the girl is Kathy Kohner, the real life Gidget. Legendary Malibu surfer Terry "Tubesteak" Tracy, he actually lived on the beach in a shack made from driftwood and palm fronds in the 50s, gave her the nickname Gidget because of her tiny size...girl/midget...gidget. Tracy lived down the street from me in the 60s when I was a kid in Lakewood, my aunt is still good friend with his widow.

Just kidding. I have pictures of me as a kid from that same time period that make my toenails curl. What the heck were we thinking!
