  1. Thanks for all the help guys. Now I wish I didn't post this. Now they will be popping up everywhere before I get mine done. It's ok I guess at least I can say that's what my gramps had. And what I will have as well....................................-/- I would love to see some side views. That would be killer. This is the only picture so far of his car with the top on and he did have them on this day. image.jpg

Wow grill shell is peeked, has antenna, plus a leaned back windshield, and more. Yet it still had the mechanical brakes.

It's amazing what one learns in threads on the HAMB. Izon, Izen, Isen-Glass, I've had it in my homes floor heater since it was built in 1951, so around the time that Elmer ran and the house I grew up in since it was built in 1936. Plastics were coming on strong in the late 20's up to present. Learned that watching "It's a Wonderful Life" when I was a kid... Wish I'd been able to buy stock in Sam Wainwright's Plastics Co. too ;).

  9. Sry I'm bad at posting pictures of the build. I'm working on the steering now. I have had a 34 box and now a 32 one too. I wanted the 34 for the better gear ratio and took them both apart to make one good one. Come to find out the 34 has aftermarket gears. The worm gear has an FB stamped on it. It also looks like steel and the 32 gear has a copper look. I think I have a worm somewhere but I can't find it. I might of throw it away last clean up I did. Any ideas on the FB stamping who it is???????

  10. Don't worry how many similar cars come out before or after yours, you have the original grandpa and the photos to show what he did...priceless for both of you.

  15. Stay tuned. This week she will coming home. Just whatever day works best for both of us as it's a 10 round trip so when I go he's got to be there. He called on Friday and said he's got a funeral on Monday. The guy now is pretty happy to see his body go on this chassis and be part of this build/history and said I have to bring it back and give him a ride in it or no deal.

  16. Worked all day yesterday on cleaning up and putting this chassis together out of all the extra parts iv bought over the 5 years of looking for parts. I got lucky a few months ago and bought a really nice chassis so now I have this one for sale to help pay for the motor. image.jpg image.jpg

  17. Those f1 steering boxes are big and so is the pitman arm. Not sure I like the looks of them in a early chassis. I know they steer better but I like the sleek look of the 32-34 box.

  21. Sorry for dragging it out. As soon as it works for both of us to meet up she will be coming home. Like iv said before it's about a 10 hour drive so all the stars have to be inline for the deal to go down. Don't trip potato chips. Soon y'all will be in ahhhhhhh.....

F1 is not big ( nowhere near as big as a F100 steering box) and they fit the earlier pitman arms , so you can play around with final ratios and shapes without resorting to cut and weld or heat and bend.

It is an advantage in some situations is the steering shaft on the bottom as opposed to F100s and others.

  23. image.jpg Thanks to runnin shine I now have a 32 front crossmember. Now I can use my 32 motor mounts and cut of the ugly side pump mounts on my frame. Gonna look good when I'm done. It's a little pitting up with that east coast acne as cyclone Kev says. But I will smooth it all out and shave some weight off her. Big huge Giant wide enormous King Kong thanks to Wyatt aka runnin shine aka Hubba Hubba aka holy moly....;):D

You guys are too kind. I'm just paying it forward or something like that. You have to remember that this came out of my 32 frame that @Ford Mike gave me cause he's such a REAL[emoji56]good guy. I'll just stick to being cool, it's what I do best.[emoji41]

  27. image.jpg :pFinely after 50 years of searching I found the super rare radiator cap. Bobs big boy Burbank bobble head. Spent the day yesterday with grandpa at my sons soccer tournament in Norco ca. Missed el mirage due to my sons team making the final 8 round of the premier league national cup. Back home today working on the car. Some names are coming back to him like potvin, harman&collans. He said he ran sodium filled valves. I showed him hamb members bored and stroked flatcad engine on the dyno from the pics he posted and grandpa was like wow that thing is huge. Also showed him dales 32 cab video when he takes it out for a drive. He was all :D. He said very few guys running the lakes could afford testing on a dynamometer so It was always drive and tune and repeat till she runs up good. He says boy did he go through ring and pinions. Poppin the clutch and hammering on the pedal. He says he got really good and changing them out.

  29. image.jpg image.jpg Runnin shine hooked me up with this Packard 440 plug wire. There's only enough for one bank. If anybody out there has any and can help me out please pm me. I would really like to run this wire with the LZ distributor.
