Posting a classified ad is very easy. However, there are some rules you should be aware of... Let's go over it:

First, go to the classified section appropriate to what you are selling. In this case, lets say we are selling a '65 Riviera. So, we go to the 'cars for sale' forum and click "Post A New Thread." Once done, you will see this:

    classifieds.jpg

Take note that you must fill out all of the fields... Put in your city, select your state (select 'international' if you are not in the US), and enter a price. If you do not enter a price in the price field, your ad will be deleted, so do it!

Also, whenever possible we really like for our classified ads to have images. You can add images of the car/part you are selling in the same way you add images to a thread. There is a tutorial for that here.

Once done, just click "create thread" and your ad will post. Here is what it will look like on the forum page:

    classifieds3.jpg

Note that there is a thumbnail next to the forum listing. This is a new feature that allows users to get an idea of what you are selling without having to click on your thread. So, it's important that your thumbnail image represents what you are selling.

But, how do you control your thumbnail image?

    1. Thumbnails manually. When creating your thread, scroll down to thumbnail thread located under the "create thread" button. It looks like this:

    classifieds2.jpg

From there you can either drag drop an image from your upload list or simply enter the URL of the image you want to use as a thumbnail.

    2. Auto Thumbnails. If you don't do the steps above, a thumbnail will be created for you. The system simply selects the first image you uploaded to the thread and uses that as a thumbnail.

And that's it... Good luck with your sale!

  8. You cannot use the classifieds through the App so if that is what you are trying to do there is no right way to do it as the classifieds are not supported on the the App. You have to use a browser.

Can I add additional photos to my ad, or do I have to wait the 3 days and add them with a bump to the top?

How can I repost my ad from 6 months ago without having to start a new classified ad? I don't want to leave old ad clutter.

  12. Can a classified be done as a raffle? I'm really needing to sale a car we have to fund a move. Thought I could get a better response if done as a raffle. Someone could own a good running driving 1947 Hudson car for very little money. Just wondering.

Ok - everyone please understand that the APP is not user friendly for placing classified orders.

That's why the direction is to use your browser on your phone or a PC to place classified posts.

So you tried using your PC and what is it doing ?

Let me word it differently .
When was the last time you cleared out your website history ?
I'm not talking about your favorites.
    I'm talking website history ?
Every website you have looked at is held in history unless your periodically clear your history.

I posted a car ad yesterday. Downloaded several pictures. they did show in my preview but not the ad. I wanted to add a reply to try and add the photos but I can't figure how to do a reply. Thanks
