Well its not sunday but i'm about to finish my 51 chevy. This is my first model since building them as a kid probably about 10 years ago. Didn't come out great and im not proud of the paint but its a neat car nonetheless. Swapped in a '56 283 out of a belair What'cha got in there, kid?
Thank you. I actually think you're nomad looks pretty good. I'm too embarrassed to show mine What'cha got in there, kid?
Looks good! I'm building the same model at the moment. Looks like the same color also. Also like your choices for your next projects, I was also considering the '59.
The 59 comes with some cool kustom parts out of the box and has 2 complete interiors to choose from. Pretty nice kit. What'cha got in there, kid?
I like Your '51 Hardtop!Stance, color, everything. Check out my green '51 Convertible back the thread a bit. AMT '51 was my first-ever car-kit as a kid, back in 1981 IIRC. I like Your next projects, as well. The AMT '58 Impala may be my all-time favorite kit ever. There's one of those from me as well from some months ago. The Monogram '59 is a nice one as well, just be careful fitting the windshield and dash in at just the right angle. This may have some effect on how to get the chassis seated in proper inside the body come final-assy -time. Sent from my SM-J500FN using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Nice work on that Chevy hardtop! I didn't know the '59 hardtop kit came with a second custom interior, that's awesome. The convertible version only comes with 1 interior. Before you get too far into that kit, be sure to check the body, interior pan, floorpan, and frame for warping. I have a '59 convertible 2 in 1 that was super warped from having all those parts crammed in a regular-sized box. The 1990s issues of the stock '59 convertible came in a larger box, so the parts didn't get as bent out of shape.
Thank you for the nice comments! I'm going to finish the engine compartment this weekend on the 51 and i already got the 58 painted. Its going to be my version of the beach boys "custom machine" so metal flake blue with a corvette grille. As for the 59, the body came with the chassis placed in it and it fits perfectly. I think it should be a fun kit! What'cha got in there, kid?
thought I would give a little update on Hank's Speed Shop. Some scratchbuilding and some pieces from the parts box.If you have built any of the old or re-issued AMT kits you know that they always have some diorama parts as extras,so I found some to use here. Trophies,TV and seats are from AMT kits.Water cooler and computer are from Scalemodelingbychris.com,I scratchbuilt the modem and mouse. Parts washer, air compressor and workbench are again from Scalemodelingbychris, the air lines, fuse box and outlets/conduit are scratchbuilt. I'm just about finished with it,just a few more things to add, soda machine, peg board and tools and a few pieces of auto related machines. Thanks for looking

Picked up this lamp yesterday for $2. Kinda neat 70s color and its bright now i finally have a decent lamp while i build these impalas the "custom machine" paint came out great. Im not sold ln the yellow for the 59 though. I wanted a color that would be out of the ordinary but now it just makes me think of a tonka truck... What'cha got in there, kid?
That met.med. blue on the '58 looks good.., will You be clear-coating it yet..? Sent from my SM-J500FN using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Im planning on it but i'm out of clear at the moment. I may just leave it like it is its kind of a cool dull metallic the way it is What'cha got in there, kid?
It's Sunday down here, and I've been away for almost two weeks, so have some catching up to do. Here's a little bucket I did some years back. The front end is 57 Chevy. Nose is upside down airplane nose.
Nice lamp. Like a dummy, I bought a black one new at Target years ago. Great for my modeling area. I like the "TONKA" yellow on the 59. It should look great with all the chrome done. I painted a '40 Tudor that color years ago and it looked fantastic.
Yeah i thought about just picking one up at walmart but my girlfriend wanted to go yard saling. I ended up with some tools as well so not a bad time What'cha got in there, kid?
Here is the start of a 32 3 window coupe,Revel body along with a AMT chassis and a FE motor from a AMT kit. Still have some parts to find so I really do not know when I will get back on it and will be a late 50s/early 60s hotrod.
Last week was a 41 plymouth coupe. This week is another 41 but this one I cut the top off and made a convertible. Again its an old build but one of my favorites in the display case.
'49 Merc engine work. Metal wire ferrule cut up for the carbs and distributor. Generator bracket made for the parts box intake manifold. Thin wire dipstick added. Citadel wash for shadows. Cutting up some sparkplug boots this evening.
Nice taillight. I like the addition of the blue dot.. Ill have to check that company out.. Finished up the exhaust and suspension and am calling it done even though more than likely itll get a redo at some point down the road but I needed to finish it so I can have the room on the bench for the 10.5 car I am working on now. Thanks for looking and comments & advice are always welcome. Darrell
