Bought a dual action shifter off ebay, got a great deal! After I waited almost 3 months to get it cause I got the big run around! From these people called the hoffman group! I saw some of you talking about them earlier. Anyway put the shifter in and the dual action part wasnt getting the lever to push the pin down out of the shift gate pattern. So it wore it some and now it won't even stay in the gear selecter even not using the dual action part just the straight push the ****on down. I can't send it back cause of who I bought it from. So do I take it apart and try and repair it? Which would be some minute welding and filling. Or just trash it lesson learned and go buy a lokar ****er? Where is Lokar made? I really want the dual action instead of the push ****on. Thanks for any help!

From the Lokar website-which you could have found yourself-"All products manufactured and ***embled in the USA".

I'm sorry for your problems, but you really only have yourself to blame. You bought a product the entire HAMB warned you against from a vendor you can't return it to and it's unusable as it is-and you had to wait three months to get it. Now that is what I, like you, would call a great deal!!.

It's impossible to know what you can really do to fix it without really knowing what's wrong with it. No harm in trying, but if you need a shifter now, step up to the line and buy the right one.

You can repair it, then move it on to recover some losses.
    or
    Repair it and keep it

After you have repaired it.............Then it is probably has more American content in it than the manufacturer claims

You might consider the TCI Fast Gate. I installed one and am pleased with the operation. I much prefer it to the Lokar I have as the shifting is much easier to control. It is also 1/2 the price of the Lokar and it includes all needed parts. Also works for 3 or 4 speed ******s.

Thanks for the input! I read your comments after the fact sad to say. It was over 100 bucks cheaper than anywhere else. Under used if to try and fix or just buy a lokar. But I'm looking for the dual action shifter not where you push the ****on. I checked out lokar website then check eBay with part number. So many different part numbers I don't know what the difference is.

You get what you pay for I guess huh?
Instead of trying to eBay parts for a deal, call Lokar direct and tell them what you're after and pay the price to have what you actually want

Oh. come on. Really? How much sense would that make? (Sarcasm)
OP the only people who really would back up the product would be LOKAR> Alternatively, someone like Summit or Speedway would probably help you out, too.

I look at the address of the seller on ebay stuff, If it's Portland OR. I don't even consider buying the item. Also the price is so cheap again another warning sign.

Lesson learned. It's not like the rest of us haven't regretted buying **** before. We've all been there. Good move on your "Made in USA" Lokar purchase. It always feels nice to have a quality product.

The thing with Lokar is they stand behind there product. I have used Lokar shifters in several cars and the are great. My 51 Chevy had one in it when I bought it, but was installed in a less than good way. shifter was fine just put in wrong. I called Lokar, told them what I had and what I needed, and got all the service parts for the whole shifter with out the shifter itself. Saved me almost 200 bucks instead of having to buy a whole new shifter. Glad to see you went to Lokar for one.

Nothing like just spend one time and get it right the first time. Research and shopping around and patients pays off. Sorry about the loss. Ive been there done that like alot of us
