Yes, Joe Koenig and Steve Pick, first ran a centrifugal blower, later ran a more conventional 6-71. Steve Pick was the engine builder, and it was featured in Hot Rod Magazine, because of the unique induction system and also because it ran a unique front suspension. Joe Koenig ran a '29 fuel sedan before this dragster, both were from Long Beach...hope those parts get found...(Steve Pick would later run the "Black Plague" top fuel car that Frank Rupert drove).

Here are a couple of pictures of the car at San Gabriel before they switched to the 6-71, from Don Ewald's site

Bean Bandits at Pomona, maybe '53? These guys were one of the strongest teams in drag racing back then, mechanical geniuses who ran lots of different engines in this and succeeding cars.

Fred Larsen usually ran Bonneville, but here he takes a shot at the 1/2 mile drags at Riverside. He worked at Moon Equipment for many years and build numerous record-breaking salt cars

Hedric and McClure fuel modified roadster...Holly Hedric worked for Keith Black, built this roadster specifically to compete with the Speed Sport Roadster, but it was too heavy. I have often wondered if this was the former Henslee and Cook roadster that in turn was once run by Paul Sheiffer. Holly lived in La Canada, near Pasadena, and often bought his nitro from Blair's.

Fred Dobney with his gas Chrysler powered modified roadster. Fred was a high school principle from Role, AZ, and formerly ran a gas Studebaker-powered roadster. Very early '60s

No ID on this blown Chrysler powered car...

No ID, looks like Ardun in the nearest car, Powers & Riley from Iowa ran one, this looks like the Midwest, maybe P&R?
