It went fantastic :) big turnout decent weather. Made 6 passes and hit every gear every pass! 5.90 @ 117 was best run. Time to start looking for a 10th somewhere. Went into 3 rounds of finals and lost to The Boogie Man . Best race for Quick n Dirty so far. Popped a freeze plug on the 2nd finals run. We JB welded it back in. Good to go. Border Bandits guys helped me a ton  those are some good peeps. Zack Halls car was awesome to see going down the track . Sunshine Express went through the lights sideways on 1 wheel. That's what I remember

Sounds like another good day at the races. Can't wait to see Mitch's recap! Anyone know about or going to this at Reynolds?
Time to start getting ready for the SNDR Gasser Race at Reynolds Georgia's famed Silver Dollar Raceway this next weekend, June 3&4. Some of my Southern Outlaw Gasser Brothers will be there as well! Gonna be a great time...come on out & race with us or at least spectate! Contact Erwin Aderhold on FB for info & contact #'s. Here's a few of the cars...there will be a lot more.
I copied this from their page.

Floater03 - can't go to any SNDR races until the 'S' is changed to mean SUPER or STUPENDOUS or something other than Southeast. Just confusing the fans calling it Southeast Nostalgia.

Anyhoo - finally poked around on Facebook - what a confusing web of stuff. Found a TON of great stuff here:

Floater, I'm not a fan of Facebook, but I did go over and try to find out something about "SNDR", and their rules, etc. but not being at all familiar with how to navigate on Facebook and not really interested in learning about how to do so, I was unable to find anything but what I consider as simply chatter.
Can you provide me with a link to a web page or whatever is available off Facebook about "SNDR"? And the same for "Southern Outlaw Gassers"?
Not trying to start a flame war on Tony's thread, but I would like to know more about these 2 groups.
Perhaps a new, separate thread would be good to get this info out.

  8. Tony, if it hooks hard, and the 60' is consistent, starting adding a 1/2 lb. of air per run. The less the slicks wrinkle, but still hook, the better the 60', and all the way to the 1/8th. If your not limiting front end travel, start taking a 1/2-1'' away at a time, it will improve the 60' also, as long as its still hooking. Running the wheelie bars closer to the ground will help too, as long as it keeps hooking, Keep taking 1/2 turns out of the clutch, until she slips a hair, then go 1/2 back.., AND FOR GOD'S SAKE, PUT THAT THING ON THE DYNO!!! It'll save you lots of time & money trying to tune it at the track. Oh, are you heavy, or at legal weight. If heavy.., well, you already know what I'm gonna say.

Dave- I started a thread on here with what little info I could find on SNDR, it gives a contact phone#
Don't know any thing about the Southern Outlaws other than just that..."outlaw" thing.I'm going to check it out and post pics on the thread.
Tony-I know what you're saying, kinda wondering how they got a date at SDR being a new outfit(its billed as 1st annual)

  11. Even if you can't add any power, there is always another tenth in the car. ;)

At about 31 minutes you can see a pass with Boogie Man. Not sure whats up with the burnout. It has blow through the clutch doing a burnout. I plan to look at the clutch today it may be toasted. That's why I'm afraid to take any base pressure out of it.

The 60 foots are consistent and the time slips were almost identical - which the car has never done with the Hightower in it. So now we can start looking for a 10th .....

  13. I didn't hear any slipping (hard to hear on the video). Do you have any counter weight on your pressure plate levers? If not, put 7 grams on each one, then you can probably take another turn out. Make sure you re-adjust your pedal/air gap.

Yeah Dave I stole about a tenth from him on the tree but he got me by about a car length at the end. Ol Boogie Man can boogie! Thinking back on it my gas pedal has never been held to the floor yet:confused: a better driver could have taken him .... :p I'll find my nuts here soon

Easy Ric, I just got finished bitching at some of the other guys in the group because they are letting a faster ET get in the way of the wheelies and here you go telling one of my best showmen to lower his wheelie bar.
All of this tuning advice you can show us a lot better than you can tell us so get that thing ready and join in on the fun.

SNDR should change their name to piggy back drag racing. I can't find the rules either but I did find out one thing it's not the first car to the finish line wins so the DR should be taking off the end because the definition of Drag Racing is a test of acceleration 2 car running a given distance and the first one there wins. It don't say anything about loosing because you went to fast. That's called bracket or index racing.

Dog Patch, that video was the best, thanks.
Quain, I'm a West Coaster, and have been to a fair number of the shindigs at Famoso and always enjoyed them, but..........man do you guys got somethin go'n on down there.
I think you need a slogan for your group, how about "To hell with how they do it in California".

    Yea that's a good one.
I have a bunch of slogans but the one I like best is this. We don't just advertise Gassers to sucker you in like some do, we have Gassers. I came up with this one because the so called Gasser groups around here are destroying the market, like going to a restaurant and getting bad food it's hard to get the fans back.

  21. I'll be there in C/G soon enough. I've come the tough realization that Tony has a better A/G combo than I do right now. Two tenths & sharpen up his driving a tad, and he is gonna be real dangerous. I'm just spreading some of that comradery around, & helping a brother out. We'll make sure he's still got the wheelies go'n on.:)

Higgy - its got the big cable you get with a remote battery kit. Its spins fast - that's not the problem. It won't fire off forever. I talked to Alky Digger and come to find out, since I'm at a .040 pill my pump is too small. It may be causing some of the start problem not sure. This week I need to test the fuel pressure to see if its at 60 psi.

I agree with you Quain, when I heard them letting off before the trap, I lost all interest/respect for this bunch of"racers." Some really nice looking cars, but ,I can watch bracket racing every week-end.

  25. No kidding! Looks like it's already time to be thinking about B/G @ 7 lbs.?

  26. Have someone prime down the stacks, with and old oil gun filled with gas like we did back in the day.

I use Alcohol to prime mine it won't flood near as bad if you get too much in there. But the only time I have to prime it is when it's been setting for a real long time. I have Sonny Burr's set it the same way.

LOL, I wasn't trying to solve your problem, I was trying to solve mine. I am installing my battery cable and knew you used to run a small battery at the back of your car. Wanted to make sure the length/size of cable wasn't too small to lose my cranking power.

Wow didn't know you could prime with Alky. The alcohol cars use gas to prime - might try some alky this weekend. It could be that it just wants a lot more squirt to fire than the old engine.
