A lot of empty parking places in Helsinki 1961. Today it's different...

^ I have seen this car "in live"...
Have to say, nothing does resemble more to Donald Duck's "313" than this one!

But seriously; It's quite an achievement, even the engine is designed and made one off as per the unique design.
Engine block and pistons cast there at the private ironworks. Very few purchased components, the magneto was one of them. Those wheels are not original as one can guess by comparing to fenders.
Original wheels were bigger in diameter, the current ones (16") were installed late 30's or early 50's.

  13. First time I ever saw a 300SL for sale was at the local airport in 1966 and he wanted $13,900. I thought that's crazy!

The picture of the Antler Hotel in Colorado Springs is Hotel #2. First one burned down, this one was torn down in late 1960's and replaced with a Hilton box called the Antler Hilton.

  16. Indeed, definitely gone before I arrived. I remember they had the mast from the ship at Waterfront Park - I'm not so sure that it's even there anymore.

  17. I think the mast is still there. It was more at the north end of the park.

    Affirmative
My wife and I were down there yesterday looking at the flower covered Rose Festival parade floats. She is a floral designer, apparently she doesn't get enough flowers at work.

Clever use of the planks to get the wires over the combines.

I love the Woods headlight on the car at extreme left in the third picture. For some reason I can't delete the other two photos from my reply.

My favorite watering hole (Jack Quinns) is the 'white' building next to the Kaufmanns store on the right...ate lunch there yesterday!....The image is ''kinda'' the same today, but lot more busy...and the street signal isn't so obviously in the middle of the street...traffic is more an issue....but still a nice area to walk around.

I love Tillamook....used to stop at the cheese factory and taste as a kid.....I always wanted to seek the famous buried treasure at Neahkahnie one day...supposedly by Spanish Galleon in the 1500's...fun area to cruise around in...great postcard!

April 60 1.jpg Time to add a few pics. These will be pictures taken by my father while he was in Europe. He spent about 1/4 of his life in the military and some of that was in different countries in Europe. Some slides were marked, others, not so much. I'll do my best to give info when possible. None of these are off the Internet, all new, never seen before until now ;-)

This one is most likely Germany, dated April 1960
