Sunday models

Discussion in 'The Antiquated' started by milo1303s, Mar 16, 2014.

  1. Just got back from Nats East, at York Pa. I thought I would share a few of the models that I saw there. For this weeks model car Sunday. They are so nice! Much better than the old vintage one's of mine, that I would have posted. Thanks and Enjoy. Ron... 006.jpg 007.jpg

  4. Appreciate the photos, Ron.
The COE's and pedal car are intense.
Here's my contribution aka update on my AMT '49 Merc.
Sprayed some Dupli-Color bronze base coat on it and tried new wheel covers.
The AMT '58 custom wheel covers with a baby moon added and some rust/gold Citadel wash.

    Miky2001, that boat is spectacular!
Thanks for the photos, Ron, looks like it was a cool event. I like the slammed bread vans too :D

Here's a project I started in 2009; it sat on the shelf in a box for a long time, but now it's finally finished. Chopped, channeled, scratchbuilt windshield frame. Swept headers made from solder and a Revell '41 Chevy stovebolt 6 with a scratchbuilt triple carb intake. Rear tires from a diecast toy, scratchbuilt frame, and metal grille insert (because I botched chopping the original insert). Feels good to have it done, finally.

Yup, Modelhaus resin body and resin hood by Drag City. Have a little House of Kolor Tangelo Pearl I hope to spray on it.

I have been working on this all week. I used an AMT 40 sedan delivery and an old Revell Willys kit. The cut lines are obvious at this point.
The goal is to have a weathered delivery truck with my nieces company logo on the side, as if she was in business a long time. I am also working on a delivery based on the AMT Fruitwagon kit . I just got a little frustrated with that one.

Nosed and shaved the 59 today and painted. It's going to be black with red and black tuck n' roll and steel wheels with wide whites. The body is still out drying but heres the color and nose job[IMG] its gotta come out better than the tonka yellow lol. still unsure about tri power big block or dual quad small block. The small block is painted to look like a pontiac engine and the big block is chevy orange. Hmm decisions

    What'cha got in there, kid?

A few more days and the BMF work begins.

Here's a project I started a while back it's a monogram ford model a Tudor sedan. Fitted with a 24 stud flathead from an Amt model. The model is a replica of my dads car equipped with full pendine sands race numbers .

That is way KOOL! Saw one of those on Fox lake, IL. in the mid 60's. Early 50's Chris Craft run about. Extremely rare boat then and even more rare now.

Posting my cabinet o' crap up here before the pros show some actual skilled modeling. Everything in here is what's left over from my teenage years. Not that I could do better now! The little plastic cube in the front contains my only surviving M80. Stamped Nov. '61
