Root. I like selling larger items on Craigslist. Freight would be an issue on something that big. Plus you get cash in hand. There is a site called search tempest that let's you search nation wide on craigslist and eBay. Should give you an idea of market value. Sent from my SM-G920T using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Dunno if anyone on here would want that stuff. I need a restoration website I think.......or an old guy website. I see the 55-57 Tbird wire caps running about 4-600 on Ebay. I will have 5 including the spare on the Connie kit.
Those are eBay items, take it from a guy with over $400K in sales on eBay. The continental kit will probably split in the center to make packaging easier. It'll cost a fair amount to ship it (probably in 2 or 3 packages, through Fedex preferably, keep each package under 70 lbs and under the max dimensions for standard Ground shipments) but not so much as to ruin it's value. A guy spending $800 on a part will kick in the $200 to ship it if he wants it. I had one on my '53 at one time, bent it to hell when I backed into a pole, and still sold it for more than I paid on eBay. It's unlikely you'll find a buyer for such an odd item on a local classified like Craigslist, and certainly not for top dollar. As for the wire caps, used ones need to be pretty well mint and a set to get $400 for them, we had them at the T-bird resto place I used to work at, since new repops are available for around $500-$600. Keep that in mind when you price yours. If you need any tips on eBay selling, feel free to ask, I have a lot of experience there.
I disagree. I sold a 390 Caddy engine and transmission to a guy in Califirnia of the OKC Craigslist. Serach engines like Searchtempest allow folks to check Craigslist nationwide. And it is free as well. That being said the more places you list it the better chance you have to sell it.
that's funny, I dont care who ya are never owned anything with a sbc that will change soon, too many cheap parts floating around lately (thanks LS motors)
Found this in some mid-century modern house pictures I was looking at. The mirrors look like the epay ones I posted the other day.
So what are the custom guys doing with the license plate mounting on the rear? Due to the fact that I have a Continental kit, it has a clunky looking mount that kinda just sticks up. I was thinking of some sort of bumper mount with a tag surround.
My first car was a '55 Ford in 1960. "56 Chevy tail lamp lenses on white plastic made in H.S. Auto Shop class. Later changed to 1960 Dodge Senica lamps which look fantastic on '55 - '56 Fords.
Glad to hear you ditched the connie kit . The 55-56 has great lines IMO that don't need to be altered much ....here are a couple of ideas .
Notice that this car is a hybrid like mine -- a '56 Vic top on a '55 car, much more work that noticeable at first. I believe this car was originally built by Larry Cerny.
The black '55 Mainline with V8 emblems and blackwall tires just screams unmarked cop car. Most Mainlines were 6 cylinder cars. Usually, if you see a Mainline that came from the factory with a V8 and dual exhaust, it's an old cop car,
All that effort and he turned to a catalogue for common belly button chevy engine and shiny bolt on bits. You w ould think he would of done something a little more interesting. Maybe he ran out of money or vision buy then. Sent from my SM-T805Y using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
