  3. Hank Vincent's Top Banana had been one of the Standard 1320 B/FD record holders before The Boys from Belmont; sadly, Hank was fatally injured in a horrific crash at Fremont in 1959.

  4. One of Forsberg-Hubbard's record setting drag cars from the late 1950s and early 1960s; their B/FR held the 1320 record at 9.46-164.60.

  5. The first rendition of the record setting Scotty Fenn slingshot; carbureted on nitro, it established a new Standard 1320 C/FD speed record at 163.63 in 1960.

    guess it's Ruth ( it could be) , Exhaust Specialties was in Portland, sponsored many cars over the years. Marty??! Maybe Jerry driving someone else's car?

    Many a NW drag car came from this shop! In the mid-late 60's it was sponsoring lots of cars, from stockers to Goodell's Mustang funny cars!

    Gary, Exhaust Specialties had at least one store near Seattle, I remember a D/G 40 Packard that was out of the Seattle area, that carried their sponsorship. It could very well be Jerry Ruth in his own car, he was later sponsored by Competition Specialties, a firm that had locations in Seattle and Portland as well.

    Well what do I know!!!?? I was a kid then, I never knew they were in Seattle as well!
    Ruth, like Ace and Rich Rogers drove a bunch of cars at various times. thanks!

    Just seeing this pic makes me think of dust, sunburn and nitro at Woodburn!
