Holy cow it's cloudy in there whats going on. When you talk about the rubber molding can you elaborate on that?
Sorry, my camera on my phone is terrible. The plan is to get rid of the front and back rubber that the gl*** fits tightly into. I'm having the gl*** cut tight to the window opening with only a 1/16" gap. The rear window will have to be filled in about an 1" or so to have the same 1/16" gap. That one will take a little bit of work but i think it will be worth it. I'll have pics in the next week or so
First, GREAT job on the chop, 4 doors are difficult to do correctly and symmetrically. Your car is coming along very nicely. Take a look, if you already haven't, at the "Dixie Deluxe" built by Bo Huff, it has beautiful lines much like the Voodoo Larry car-and like yours! Question: I am working on my 51' and have thoughts of flush mounting the gl*** because I will have a very difficult time mounting the rubber moulding in the channels, especially in the front windshield. The front windshield opening was done prior to me buying the car so to change it will make the window even smaller and I don't want to go any smaller for "law enforcement reasons". Are you looking at mounting your front and rear windshield gl*** flush without using the traditional window rubber moulding? I'll be watching this if so!!!
Thank you! Yes i am planning on flushing out both front and back gl***. The front is getting cut as we speak and when we get it back, i will start filling in the back to flush that out. I LOVE bo Huffs car. I saw that one a couple years ago and am attempting a similar look....with a little less money. I will load pics when i get the car back.
Beautiful work on the chop. A Merc chop is tough enough. A 4 dr. Merc even more so! I like the lines of rear doors w/o vent windows. Curious to know about how many hours you have spent on the chop?
Thank you! I have maybe 60 into it with everything, chop, hood, headlights...my dad has another 60-65 hrs too.
To cool good work. Looks like you all ready lost the car to a new owner. That's okay the kids get it all in the end any how.
Since you and your dad both worked on it, I ***umed it was you behind the wheel! Nice work. Chop looks great!
Nice Job it looooks like it Belongs that way! if I wasen't so Old I would Think about do'ing Mine Just my 3.5 cents or when the Cows come Home!
