Well folks. It wasn't what we hoped. Transmission is out again. And taking it to the shop. For some reason the small shaft inside the big one on the pump is jammed up. Once you tighten the bell housing it won't turn.
    Stay tuned

James - you are exactly the type of guy we had in mind when we started this whole crazy thing called the Meltdown...there is nothing you could do to let us down.

I personally look forward to seeing you again and watching you run that 409!

I am truly blessed that my good friend Tom K lets me beat on his car and parts.
If it was not for him you guys would just have to watch my ugly Charger poke down the track.

Seems the parking prawl mechanism won't fully disengage. She's working on it as I type. Pick it up about 430 pm.

That don't explain the input not turning when bolted up.
Was the input shaft in backwards?

No. That explains me trying to figure out what's wrong and taking it apart then trying to put it together again.

Strange tidbit. My c4 input shaft is the same on both sides. Meaning splines are the same depth on each end.

My transmission guys/gal are top notch. The old man was willing to come out to the house in the morning to take a peek see. I said fuck it. I'll bring it to you. Lift tools and all the right stuff. Let's see what we can work out.
We are pretty for certain that the converter is jacked. Speedways off shore special I'm sure. They are oh for two. So far.
I'll have the shop slap the stock convertor in if we can make the stall work.
At least we can still come over and have fun with y'all.
I'll keep ya all posted on tomorrow's work.

We did. Checked with a caliper. Measured the stock converter and measured the stall. Both the same. What's really strange is the stall doesn't go in as far as the stock converter. Transmission guy said it seems like it bottoms out on the out out shaft. We put the stock converter on at the shop before I brought it home and it went in 1/8-1/4 inch further than the stall. Maybe something inside is off. We should of just left the stock converter on the somebitch...... I digress. I've got this feeling that the tabs welded on for the bolts are wrong. Like there to high. Don't know. Taking into the pros in the morning. If they can't find out what's up. Like no real obvious reason shit won't work right. The stock converter goes back on. We know that shit works.
