Oh the next project, always on a hot rodders mind.
I'm currently very deep in OT 69 camaro build, my first car. Next on deck is a 63 impala, it's a parts car for my father's 409 340 hp, so I can't start on it until thats farther along. I've got a 37 chevy coupe spotted, owner is willing to deal but it's really rough. Pair of 54 chevy trucks, owner is willing to sell. Then the 58 apache with a pontiac 389 I found recently, cool old custom build that's now rough.
Where to spend the time, money and daydreams?

Ill probably get the OT to paint jail and start on some bodywork on dad's 63 409, it's an older resto before we got it with a gooey repaint, good 10 footer but I can tell the area between the door and rear wheels are hiding some sins.

    Dang Joe,you sure are observant!

I had to go back and look at the photo's to see what toy were talking about but you right, that is one in the same.

You are probably well aware I don't use it anymore,I am well versed in spreading BS without the aide of a fertilizer spreader! HRP

Once upon a time I had a real set of moon disc on the truck, refer to the painting Fred did.

I really got tired of the screws loosening up and the moons rattling, but I still love the simple look. HRP

  9. The ones on the Pusher were still in the wrappers and boxed when I got them but that are push on.

Well if it were junk Danny I'm sure you would have gotten rid of it the first time. When ya pulled the wagon out. So it has to be very good fertilizer spreader! Probably hardly used! Joe

  15. I dream dream dream of a '60 Coupe Deville. Not only for the cool look, but that was the year I was born. Problem is, I have nowhere to put it, and there are three projects ahead of it. Oh, well.

When I opened this up I was expecting to read all about a certain roadster and all the plans for it. A raggedy old Ford pickup?? A recycled one at that. What a letdown.:D

I haven't given up on the roadster but I need to keep busy until the day ,if that day ever comes, all the planets align then the truck would be regulated to the back burner. HRP

I think I'm projected out. The 64 Biscayne in my avatar will probably be my last. My next project may be an Audi A8 with every creature comfort.

Thinking seriously about selling the Biscayne anyone interested send me a PM.

I'm flat out working hurt and it blows. My neck is doing better since my RFA treatment about 6 weeks ago. My thoracic spine, hope they can turn the same magic. Strength wise, I'm fine, just have issues crawling under the car and all through it is tough. And my helpers are catching up in age. I work best heavily medicated. So the next car will be a more complete car. This one beat the crap out of me.

I just stumbled across this thread, Danny.

I'm neck deep in my '40 Ford MorDor sedan, right now, which replaced the '54 Ford F100 project. My '54 was hard for me to part with, trying to sell it, because it had some sentimental value to me, and I didn't really want to sell it, but I had no motivation to do it right. The MorDor was something I was more interested in, since it was a '40, and I felt that I could more easily find a buyer for it, rather than the F100. It's a low budget, get it running, reliable, and GONE, project.

After the '40 MorDor is gone, my next project is to do a flathead swap in the '40 stake truck, replacing the stock 221 with a bored, stroked, and relieved 286CI flatty. It was planned for last winter, but Dad's '34 sedan transmission swap, and his T coupe project got in the way.

I'm considering starting a '32 chassis, for Dad's sedan, but I don't know if that will happen or not.

Since I have two projects already, '48 F-1 panel being worked on at a very slow pace and a '26 T Touring pushed to the back of the garage when I got my roadster 15 years ago, I have no business day dreaming about another project. However, I've had this '55 Olds 324 dual quad, isky cam, etc. engine sitting in another corner of the garage for probably 25 years waiting for a home. It was going in the T but I think that really needs a flathead.

The thought of something that would have been a good high school car for me, early to mid '60s, was the new plan. I've collected the parts to put that Olds in a '49-'53 Ford coupe. So far I've got the hurst mounts, Cragar trans adapter, flywheel, and 1962ish Ford T10 4 speed (thanks Tom T) and either an 8 or 9" rear for the swap. Really leaning toward a '52-'53 coupe cause you don't see as many of them. Still looking for an inexpensive Hurst shifter for the (non-top loader) 4 speed.

So that's my day dream project but it will never happen until the other two get finished. I'm not partial to sleeping on the couch.
