Bang'n a couple of the dents out of the front of the Scout, wiring in a signal converter for the Tach, change the oil, add a longer arm to the throttle linkage... Oil change and check over on the tow vehicle...load the beast up and head south...

Prefect is ready, Scout is ready
We leave Wednesday night... we'll be there Thursday afternoon

I'm thinking wiring the lever in what would be the floored position or passing someone would not allow the transmission to be shifted to 1st/low. So you could be onto something there. I bet it was holding second then into third when I slammed her home.
Anywho. I cut the wire off. It's back where it was before. Not held open. We shall see how it works Friday!

So I just cut the wire holding it open. We shall see how it works Friday. Unless I can sneak it out before then. Little thing is kinda loud with open headers.
I think wiring it full open or what have you kept it in second now. It wouldn't let it be shifted into low. So I was banging 2nd/3rd.
Kids going to check my work on the linkage tomorrow.
And I did stay at a holiday inn last night.... [emoji12][emoji6]

  7. Remember, the transmission still can shift 1-2-3 at Wide Open Throttle

You can read my mind James:rolleyes:

Been eyeballing the front clip and straight axle package that Dan Lau markets at swap meets.
Love the nose height on that 66.

Even been looking at low cost way to put 327 crossed flags on the doors. A friend of mine uses a
projector to display the image on what you want to paint, maybe even I can paint in the flags?

Want to put fiberglass doors on first, Picked up fiberglass trunk and rear bumper from Glassteck
( Not on yet ) planning for fiberglass doors so they can all be squirted at once.

The Injector Stacks, now that would be Cool.

Turned 62 years old, so that means I got to live to 200 to save up to buy all this stuff.

I will just keep pecking at it and some day ( Lord Willing ) it will get done.:)

    Just like Scott. :p

I will be there Saturday. The 64 Catalina's clutch was feeling funny up at back to the 50s and have not had time to check out so I will bring the air condition crew cab. My main plan is to watch some racing and meet as many of you as I can. So if a gray bearded kind of scarey looking dude wearing an eye patch and a bandana comes your way, My name is Larry and I am building One Bad 51 Merc. So you have been warned!!!! lol Larry

Went to do a test run today with the Falcon after changing all the pushrod guide plates. Things were going great until I would get to 3rd and then it would just bog down and stumble. Doing it a second time running through the gears it got worse and then lost fire as I was going down the road. Coasted into a farm entrance and could not get the car to fire again. Did some quick checking to find I was out of fuel!! Dumped some gas in and got it to fire up. Runs like a dream.

Is there compressed air available at the track? My short bed pickup is running out of room, and my slicks leak.

Did you coat the inside of the slicks with dish soap? Might stop the leak.....there will be plenty there to help you out with air if you need it.

The track does have an air compressor located near the fuel pumps.

Did a Meltdown Drags Promo at HD Museum last Saturday for Wild Ones Weekend... Jen & I Had good time hanging out with Eric, AJ, Steve, Jack, Dan & Joanne... Still find it hard to believe how many people have never heard of the Meltdown Drags or where it's located or what's it's about...!
Had perfect weather... Harley employees & owners were very cool...! Here's a few pics...
I probably shouldn't, but I'm still chuckling about AJ firing up his digger & it scaring the kids...! [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    On Saturday:
The flyer says, racing 11:00AM- 7:00PM.......what classes of cars are racing then?

The flyer also says for Saturday, preselected night racing from 8:00PM- 11:00PM.....what classes of cars are the "preselected"?
    -Thanks

  29. As a founding member of the harley museum i have to say it is a special place. They do several members only events through out the year. The membership is worth it. One of my favorites is movie night. They show movies from the archives on two big screens. Popcorn is free with a bar to quench your thirst. You get a real good look how motorcycling has changed over the years. There was a time when the road captain was the guy that carried the guns and drugs. Now the road captain picks out what dairy queen to stop at. Im just a kick start guy living in a push button world.

There is a local chassis shop i used who narrowed the dana 60 and got me the spool and axles. . They are a strange dealer. This is Strange's 3" chromemoly shaft with their forged ends.
