image.jpg I was told it was a '28 chevy when I bought it years ago. Body by fisher, thought I' post a couple of pics here and see if you guys could help me out.

  2. Got a dashboard photo?

  3. Here is a stocker for comparison.

Your car has a Ford front suspension spring in front. GM were parallel leaf. But this will give you a cowl to compare.

  4. The '28 Chevy dash should resemble this one compliments of the @squirrel :D

  5. Looks more like a 1931 or 1932 body.

  6. Here is a good shot of stockish 31.

  7. I lighten up the photo, hopefully the body lines show up better. HRP

    I don't think it's a 32

    This is a 32

  9. The reveal looks suspiciously Ford to me. But it does have that gnarly 6 cylinder divot in the in the firewall.

I don't know why the second picture was so small. Here it is again:

look at the little tag riveted to the top of the firewall, it will tell you what it is.

Post a nice clear picture of it, or at least tell us what numbers are on it. Like the STYLE and/or JOB numbers.

  12. The cowl and doors resemble that of the 30/31 Ford roadster, but the firewall isn't correct, look under the dash and see if there was a gas tank or hole in the cowl.

How about a few more photos? HRP

  13. I never said 1931 or 1932 Chevrolet. I know it is not one of those. looks more like a Chrysler product to me.

reveal on cowl looks like 31 Olds (possibly Pontiac) and would account for the firewall

looks like a 29-30 chevy, probably a coupe with the top cut off based on the doors.

Based on the belt line and the way it wraps up along the windshield line, I'm gonna say the cowl and doors ere originally from a 1930/31 Durant Sedan or Coupe...

...of course very little of that car remains, and these design cues were common throughout the industry, so its just a guess.

  22. Looks like a 1930 Chevrolet AD.

It has a Chevy firewall, I think the 1930 Chevy ID is pretty darn close...at least, for the cowl. The rest of the body and the chassis may be from other stuff, more pictures are needed to help figure it out.

On my 28, the little tag on the firewall says JOB 8180 which is a 1928 Coupe.

It's a 29 or 30 Chevy. Definitely Chevy cowl/firewall and rear quarters. No reveals on the quarters. [IMG]

Ding ding ding! Winner winner chicken dinner!

29/30 Chevy coupe. The trim tag if it's on the cowl still will tell you exactly what year by the job number.

Here is my old 29' coupe body for reference.

Here is my 29' Chevy roadster for reference. Notice the top of the doors/cowl are shaped differently.

Thank you all, no title. The job no on the body tag is 8850. No filler hole in the top of the cowl. It's a 40 ford front end, I've already put four wheel disk brakes on it, rear is a 3:73 LSD from a 65 chevelle, 383/th350 although the engine may be getting put in my turbo truck depending on whether or not the guy is serious about buying it. I can take more pics when I get home if it'll help. Once again, I appreciate all the info, I have clearly came to the right place.
