Would it be out of place to ask here to autograph it? [emoji41] That would make that picture go from cool to awesome! And your likes go through the roof!!
Yeah, no I wouldn't even approach her about it, I don't know her that well. It's not the type of picture somebody who's spent a few decades in the corporate world probably wants spread around. She'd probably prefer to remain anonymous.
I shot this on a roadtrip to LARS in 2014. Max Rollins, who was in his mid 80's at the time, went with us. We lost Max about a week ago. He was an amazing guy. Engineer, sailor, and a true hot rodder. Max was building cars when most of us were still in grade school. He was a gentle soul with a wealth of knowledge and fun to be around. Rest in Peace, Max...
Here's one I just love, if its' already been posted then this'll be twice as nice. From the Jalopy Showdown, this just captures the whole deal in a way words can't. Two babes in 'Ol 999' throwin dirt with a smile of pure joy!
Denny, I'm glad you like it. Our Alabama Scout, Ron H, took the picture of Scout Jack while they were blazing a trail to the roadster show. In the best tradition, the picture was taken from another 32 Ford roadster... one that Scout Jack had earlier BUILT for our Alabama Scout. Both cars held up well during the trip out to Pomona and back.
The picture was taken at mile post 10; just not sure on what road! A little research, and blowing up the picture, shows it to be mile post 10 in Utah... sign on right side of road seems to be in shape of the state of Utah. I think it might be on I 70 but need to check with hotrod3w, who took the picture, to be sure. A truly great picture that I'm sure Jack will treasure forever. Anybody on the HAMB that can solve the mystery? HAMBers seem to be a fount of knowledge.
Two lane road , I think in moument valley or close . The whole SE. state is like that if you get off the highway .
Thanks for posting Al. Awesome picture!!! My new screen background! Ron probably didn't know it at the time, but I'm sure this one will be around a long time.
At first I thought this guy was making a claim with his smart phone by taking a picture of the damage
