The reason we are seeing all those high quality builds and "36 Fordor to 3-window" conversions is a little clearer now. http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enth...-trucks-to-drive-without-a-license/ar-BBuip1e
LOL When I was 14 I had a hardship license but to didn't allow me to go to the movies or drive in. To and from school, to and from the store, to and from work or the Doctor stuff like that. I could drive farm equipment, hay truck tractor, anything that carried a slow moving vehicle placard. I had a date with this little ol gal to go to the drive in. Well I had a new warning from the local constabulary "get caught driving one more time and it was my ****." The Ag teacher knew about it and my date and told me to use the FFA tractor. You should have seen the looks when I rolled up to the ticket booth with my date standing on the 3 point hitch. Oh interesting article.
The article is unfortunately not quite correct. It is true that is is legal to drive a tractor with a top speed of 30km/h or less without a drivers licence, but only short distances on public road and only to and from places where the tractor will be used for work. Basically, it's a loophole for the farmers kids to work the fields around the farm even if they have to use the road to get there. It does NOT allow anyone to drive as they want. For "normal" driving a drivers licence is required, today that usually means a AM license that lets you drive a 50cc moped at 45kph or a tractor at 30kph. You can get this license when you are 15 years old. But it's correct about there being some very impressive builds out there!
