Sometimes on eBay you are SURE that you won't be the one to win the auction right? Because for SURE someone else will bid at the last minute...right? Not on this one! Check out the latest: 1964 Mercury Park Lane!

Those wheels may have scared off some potential bidders. LOL. Good luck with it....

Man, you kept us waiting all that time with no money shot! The back window, man.

Seriously though, sweet car. And for the record, it's not ugly. Fugly maybe, but not ugly. Definitely ditch the pimp wheels. Some solids with pinners and spiders. Don't know it you could pull off bellflowers but lowered, a little flake and panel work, some white pleats and TITTIES!

I would have to agree with that. You would be amazed what I was able to sell them for!

Don't undercoat the trunk, paint it the same color you are going to paint the body. Undercoating will smell up the car and leave black smears on anything you put in the trunk.

For a GM look you could use Zolotone or speckled paint.

I could see brush or spray on bed liner in the trunk but not undercoating.

treat that thing nice and it will make a good ride. I wonder how difficult it will be to find that missing trim on the left rear quarter. Keep us updated.

I was thinking these must not be too rare, since there is one in Frisco for sale.

    Oh, wait a minute.

I bookmarked it a couple of days ago

  15. Very nice Merc, probably the most distinctively styled of the 60s offerings from Mercury. Be prepared for sticker shock on some parts prices though, not to mention the degree of difficulty in finding some of them.

I will give you a heads-up; if you have any exhaust leaks at the manifolds, figure on pulling the heads. The FE is notorious for both leaks at the manifolds and the factory manifold bolts breaking off in the head (and not just one or two, but most of them...) when removing the manifolds. And trying to extract the broken bolts in the car is all-but-impossible. If any bolts break, bite the bullet and pull the heads and take them to a machine shop for repairs. Have them check the mating surfaces on both the heads and manifolds for flatness and have a light machining pass done if they're not.

Cool beans, man! Just watched the other vids on YouTube. Congrats on getting it going (and stopping). You need to find a better radio station though. Keep the vids coming. Nice to see a running documentary on basic "get it back on the road" repairs.

Gosh, I hope you didn't pay $7K for that.
Hard car to sell - low demand.
