  2. Chip, I have an already-drilled axle here. Interested?

Maybe you can help me find a V8-60 axle or brakes for the wavy Mopar....

Not sure I can agree with that. Drilling them all the way out like that on un-dropped axles really predates rat rods by generations, and was common on sixties drag stuff. To me, un-dropped without the outboard holes looks a bit naked. I did consider filling the ends, but again, that came about the cure the uglies associated with poorly dropped axles, so that didn't make historic sense, either. I'll do the center web holes first, then revisit the deal before proceeding.

I think we have the brakes for the wavy Mopar axle already! More from the Chip stash... Thanks on the axle, but I think I'm gonna do my deal and see how it looks. Heck, if this doesn't ring my bell, this one might be up for sale, too.

Why don't you hop in the "A" and come down tomorrow night to the burger rush gig?

As promised. Late of course. I started to polish it, but gave up shortly after I had the top done. Someday maybe...

Band camp? WTF! Well, I had to fix my land lords ARC welder, but I tacked in most of the brackets I have. It's not much, but it's progress.

Fred I don't know how you and everybody else get out there to work every night when you want to get something done but I just lie to myself. When I got home from a hard day at work and had a good dinner and wanted to just "chill out" I would just tell myself I'm just going out there and sit down and look at it and plan what to do next. Then after two or three hours of work on it I would go in shower and "chill out". I never caught onto the "BIG LIE".

    Hey Fred,
Please take this for what it's worth, but if you are running the cast aluminum engine side mounts common to these mount ears, break the tacks you have and move themup flush with the top of the rails. Right now with my car at a reasonable ride height, my oil pan is the lowest point on my car at 3". I'd love to put my cast aluminum pan on, but it's almost an inch deeper, and stuff is gonna get hairy at about that point. The other thing about the mounts slung low like that, is if you are going to use CCRs Corvair box and mount, you'll find header/steering box room to be at a PREMIUM with them down where they are. Heck, now that I think about it, mine are flush with the tops of the rails AND have a 1/2" spacer to raise them a bit more...

I always prefer to start with the less appealing part. then later on eating the good parts is much more pleasurable. :D

The first of Cotton Werksman’s yellow T-buckets, built in the late-’60s, is seen here on the front yard of his Illinois home. In his retrospective on Cotton’s hot rodding exploits, Spence Murray mentioned that it took some finagling to arrange the Ardun flathead and all the other components for his photo. Eventually the signature “Cotton” grille shell was moved up front, but we like this view as well.

Where is everybody? No entries for almost 18 days? I know my deuce is too large to be included but I still look forward comments and ideas from all the heavily bent knee and elbow crowd. I used to own a fun '27 on deuce rails but my "boyish figure rebelled and thus the deuce.

  25. I had a bunch to post but I dumped my lunch box on top of my phone the other morning and killed it! So now I've got nothing! :-(

I took a walk-around video the other day. Seems to capture proportions better than a picture. I should have done it on my skateboard so there was no bouncing lol. I've gotten a few brackets and pieces made, but pretty random tasks so I will wait to update my thread. Anyway, that's what I've been up to...

Thanks. I am happy with what it has morphed into, but the proud moment will be when I can say it is finished!

  29. IT'S ALIVE!!!!!! Went for a short ride down to the gas station, and then crawled back to the shop because a rear wheel cylinder has failed during all the time it's been sitting. I didn't lose the brakes completely, but damn close. Looks like it's gonna be rear end resealing and brakes next. Sorry no pics or videos, I must have screwed up my phone worse than I thought, it takes pictures, and says it saved them, but when I go to open them, they aren't there. I checked to see if it was saving them somewhere else in the settings, but everything looked normal. I just downloaded a camera app for my kindle, so maybe that will work this weekend. Need to check with Net 10 and see if the Galaxy S 7 will work on their network here. Damn electronics, bane of my existence!

Have you plugged your phone into USB on comp, then going to the DCIM folder, or whatever the S7 calls the photo storage folder? I'm gonna have to do the same thing when it comes time to update my thread as I killed off an S5 a few months ago.... And attempts to fix it resulted in my fist through what remained of the screen...LOL
