    More, yet, from Atlanta:

    Hodges, again.

Construction of the "Downtown Connector" (I-75/85), by the Georgia Tech campus, 1949. Those old dormitory buildings are still there, but I understand they now have air conditioning (they didn't when I lived there, in 1970-71).

1244 Clairmont Road, near Emory University, about 1959 (judging by the plate on the car at right).

I've been following this thread since the beginning, but it's impossible to remember what has been posted, by me, or by others. Anyone know if photos from Sunset Drag Strip have ever been posted?
Here's a couple shots from opening day in 1959.

Why is the windshield so high? Is this some sort of tractor or other purpose-built contraption? It looks like they have a gravity fuel tank set up, and decided they didn't need fenders.

Google image search gives 2 entries for this site. July 14, 2008 and October 7,2011. I didn't bother doing a full seach for what page on the HAMB they were, but the short answer to you is "YES"
    regards,Rod.

Not what you'd call a 'vintage shot from days gone by' given it was taken at some point in the past 3 years ;)

I used to run at Sunset Strip in the late fifties and early sixties in g/gas class. It was a one eighth mile with a short stopping distance. It was a fun place to race and brings back a lot memories.
