Man, I like that car. Even though you are not that far from me and my brother lives in the same town, I have never had the pleasure of seeing it in person.

I just fired up the flat head I bought from a guy that claimed he got it from another guy that pulled it from a running car. We have all heard that one. I had a gut feeling, looking at it that things would go well. After some reworking a few things that the second guy had done wrong to get it running, it fired up and sounded great. I bought it to put In my 40 panel truck that was a Shell station service vehicle that had sat untouched since they closed the station in the 60's. The key and skeleton keys to the station were still hanging In the ignition. I am getting excited !

Well...heck. Give me a shout next time you are over this way. We can resolve that situation, however, it may leave you feeling a little disappointed. LOL

There is no way I could be disappointed with that car. I don't expect perfection in people or things and that car grabs my attention as it obviously does many others being it shows up all the time on the internet.!

I spent some time messing with the MorDor this weekend. Slapped some caps on it, and still undecided as to whether I like them, or prefer the unfinished look without them, and also stuck a set of Moon Discs on it, just for smiles and giggles

I think I would need to coax about another inch out of the rear to be able to properly pull off the Moon discs.

Here are some pictures taken on the way to and at Deuce Days Victoria today. IMG_0368R.jpg
Waiting in the ferry line at Annecortes WA.
    IMG_0376R.jpg
Could not believe where they parked us at the end of the line with no chance for door dings
    IMG_0377R.jpg
We had lots of non 40 company.

Waiting in the customs line in Sidney BC.

So we drove down to Victoria and walked down to the Ferry dock in time watch the cars come off of the ferry COHO. A large crowd gathers for this event and cheers the cars up the hill and inot Victoria.

More pictures to come and possibly a thread that will show more of the scenery of this beautiful area. The traffic is a little intimidating for this small town old fart but we will get the car out and participate when we can.

Here's a photo that got taken last night at a FaceBook generated cruise. In Wichita everybody used to cruise Douglas street on Friday and Saturday night. The city shut it down several years ago but some old timers got together and made it happen last night. I think it's going to get bigger and better. I hope, we had a blast! My 40 to the left, Larry Ashley's 40 coupe on the right and Troy Pates 57 down the center. Rod Sisk took the pic. cruising.jpg

I hope the hood on this 40 was used as a canoe. And then sank.

You can call it what you want and use whatever means you have to get guys out in their cars and I'm happy. We all had a great time driving, checking out cars and BSing. It's all good. Hey, your response was on the computer so…..

Phone calls are great, and are much more personal, but with people tuned into the FacePlace, it's pretty convenient to get the word out quickly for stuff like this. Congrats on making some fun happen!

I drove it for a few weeks like this while I was louvering the hood. I liked looking and hearing the engine going down the road. With the cowl vent open... the smell of gas, exhaust and burning paint off of the freshly rattle canned headers brought moisture to my eyes.
