I think I've punched louvers in nearly everything I've owned! ...But never in a 'Custom'.
<'There was a thin line between rods and customs, one that I knew better than to cross'>

Not gospel, but common sense guidance.

 

Damn I did a search on louvers and there was tons of how tos and this 'n' that but none I could find were along the lines of this one and there ya go...chit. No doubt there may be more. Apologies.

Nice.. has the skin grown back on your fingers from all the sand paper?

 

A friend of mine, 'Halibrand Jack' bought a '56 Chevy when they came out, (San Jose) a couple of months later planted a 354 Chrysler Hemi in it, and louvered the hood AND DECKLID, 300+ in the decklid.
In '56, this was making a huge 'statement'...Jack told me to look at the rows...when I did, I saw they were staggered. (every other row was punched between the next, so if the louvers in the first row were at 0, 1.5, 3, etc., the second one started at .75, 2.25, etc.)
Jack said it made them look like there were more.

Look at it for a minute and all you saw were louvers. Look away and they remained indelibly in your sight window. Always the smartass, I said it probably confused police in close pursuit.
There was an uncomfortable silence...

 

Here's a licence plate, that @Zapato sent out to me some years back.
Sadly, I don't have any on the Hot Rod.
