I was on my way back to the shop Sunday afternoon just needed some more sandpaper . I ran over a nail or something because that floppy noise started then the sentence Oh **** !! well I pulled over in a wide spot and proceeded to find my jack and spare it had air in it oh lucky day . I get just about done then on the side street a little red truck pulls up and I hear the guy say you having trouble you need help I had my back turned to him tightening lugs . Then I turn around to say I have it and behold there stood Elvis I was wore out thought maybe a flash back from my wild days no he was real ! The guy goes around to nursing homes and does shows he was the younger skinner version . This has to be my strangest encounter yet !

  2. I saw him last week in Walmart, Mankato, MN. I'll get pics next time he comes in if I'm there, he always says Hi, nice guy!!

Hey Terry,If you lived in my little town here back in the early 50s,the REAL Elvis could have stopped to help you...He came here often to chase our local girls while he was appearing over at the KWKH Hayride in Shreveport..He and Tommy Sands...

Didn't have Elvis but last Wednesday night on the way home from Everett towing the sailboat I blew a tire on the trailer and discovered that I didn't have the correct lug wrench or socket to get the wheel off an limped into Ellensberg where we left the boat at an old closed up cafe with semis parked around it and raced to Fred Meyers to get a lug wrench. Got back and got started and a gent walked over and asked if I needed help, dug blocks and jacks out of his pickup to help jack the trailer up and even cut the tire off the axle for me. I'd probably have been sitting there when the sun came up without his help.

Good he was the young Elvis. Anyone shows up behind me in white jump suit, heels and a pompadour and I'm coming up swinging.

Well Mr. Bob me and my buddy have the shop in Hawkins across from the Sonic where Bob Snyder restored WWII planes the old building next door was a Station we were told in 1954 before Elvis played at E**on camp he played in the garage in the old station . Then they told us in 1955 they stopped him and ask him to leave the high school for shaking his hips. I think Mr. Bob Perman told us he was in Hawkins twice with the Louisiana Hay Ride . The King was in the old shop and George Bush Sr. was in the new shop they restored the plane like He flew its at the Texas A&M museum . But now all 's here is some old cars . By the way my meds are current !

I'm with 3w. I'm not too quick to claim there is something in the water in Tejas !, but I do believe Minnesota is just a bit too close to Canada. Isn't the malady called "brain freeze"? Now for the Hawkins lad, I have no opinion. Could he be a MN native? Thank you, thank you very much.

Yes, you are right, ct1932ford. Take this guy in the pic. He thinks he is changing a flat on his Deuce. It does get hot here.

Elvis lived in my garage for 17 years until the paparazzi found out. He packed up and left in the middle of the night and hasn't been seen around here since.

I talked to a 63 yr old woman who left her abusive husband and moved to another state. She had no job, no money and was driving a ****py Kia that someone gave her. She was driving home from a job interview, after dark on a lightly traveled rural road when the Kia engine stopped running She stopped on the shoulder with her flashers on and was wondering what to do in a strange state where she knew no one and had no money and no cell signal. A guy stopped and asked if she needed help. He explained that he was on his way home from church and didnt usually take that road but knew a guy with a tow truck. About that time, his wife stopped and asked "Why did you take this road home?" When the tow truck got there he paid for the tow (because she didnt have any money) and while trying to load the Kia, they found that it wouldnt roll forward so they loaded it from the rear since it would roll backward.
The repair shop found some problem with the rear brakes that had prevented it from rolling forward and a broken timing chain/belt, whatever those cars have and told her that usually other engine parts break at the sake time but she got lucky. The $600 repair bill was also paid by the stranger. This is the craziest breakdown story I have ever heard.
