Sure looks like they "borrowed" the idea for the TR-1 from the Ridgerunner Ram

Did you mean Rubino Bros in Stamford?
I think Micky Ferro's family also had something to do with Rubino's.
Today Mickey and Anthony Terenzio own City Carting which is based in Stamford but has many of locations all over Connecticut.

In Stamford you also had Manchucks Junk yard which was over near Elm Street and just north of Route 95
Billy Manchuck was one of the son's who helped run the place.

Geno, Vic, and Anthony Terenzio had the "Let It Fly" altered along with many other colorful cars with name like "The Italian Way' which was another of their very successful altered s along with a few funny cars names "The Italian Stallion" and let's not forget the "Quarter Horse"

  12. This brings back some foggy memories. Bell's son, Tommy, went to the same HS as me in Jacksonville. My memory is 50 year faded, but I recall he actually drove this little cupcake to school one day, much to his father's disapproval. "Hey Dad, can I use the car today?"
This pic is from an old HRM "green pic" rotogravure center section. Anyone have the issue date? SBC is all the info that I can recall.
