Hopefully you have a surveillance camera pointed towards your car when it's in front of her house so when you come out to a broken windshield or slashed tires they'll know who to arrest. Good luck....

Nope...all Porsche and 7 Series BMW, tree huggin, Prius drivin, snobby assed, California fruitcakes. Know the difference between a California bred Porsche and a porcupine? On a porcupine the pricks are on the outside!!!! ...............'Scuse me while I take a Valium.

Funny...I had a neighbor once that was cited for having his trashcans in site instead of behind a privacy fence......so he built a fence for the cans then painted life sized, lifelike pictures of his three trash cans on his garage door......thought that was kinda cool!

A few guys in my area run HAMB friendly rides but nothing really close by. I'm the weird guy with the cool car on my block. Most folk seem to really get a kick out of seeing my old heap cruising around.
One old guy likes to moan about the state of my drive but I guess everybody needs a hobby

This is my neighbor , Andy, who lives over the hill behind me. That's his coupe with a Lincoln V-12 hauling his V8-60 sprint car. He also rides a couple of Harleys, built a flathead powered trike, has a couple of old stock cars he runs up and down the road on occasion, bought an old church bell he built a tower for and rings "when I feel like it", and mounted a 28 ft sports fishing boat on a school bus frame and drove it in the local 4th of July parade. ( from the flying bridge!)

My other neighbor down the road, Steve, is an ex auto body guy, and a retired Captain who was in the Sheriff's Dept. Canine Unit. He's into trucks, and has a panhead Harley he keeps threatening to put back on the road ( born to be mild!) Code name; "Mr. Blue" ( yeah, I know- needs a respirator. try and tell HIM that)

We're all pushing 70, and clown around like a bunch of 17 year olds.

I think that qualifies! HAMB FRIENDLY FOR SURE!

  9. 70 is the new 35, you guys still got it. I spray furniture all the time with an HVLP and a dust mask, that's why I grew my nose hairs so thick and bushy.

    That v-12 is sick!

My neighborhood is a tear down neighborhood. That means that perfectly good and well maintained houses built in the 50's and 60's are being torn down to make way for a colossal 6,000 SF OSB mansion. The only work these guys do with their hands is pass the credit card over to the lawn service company. My two car garage houses two old cars and all my shop tools. It's so small I have to back one car out and rearrange things to make a work area. All the new cars are on the driveway in the weather. I'm odd man out, they are not sure what to make of me but I am obviously some sort of college drop-out with a low value job. Am I wrong? Do I need change counseling?

We live in an older neighborhood with nice homes and yards, etc. Many retired folks in the area. Next door is a very nice 57 Nomad and 68 Shelby GT500 convert, down the street is a high end 32 Highboy. The other way about a block is a very nice 50 Ford Panel and a 64 GTO. Within a half mile there are probably 5-6 more nice older cars tucked away. No complaints yet but all work is behind closed doors-nothing showing out side unless cleaning one up.

:D A buddy of mine lives in North Florida.NEVER worries about neighbors. His house and shop are built in the middle of a full section of land that has been in his family since about 1910.So his nearest property line from his house is 1/2 mile from his house.Does what he wants, when he wants.Hehehe.
    Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

They're all dysfunctional if that's what you mean.

But seriously, my neighbors are really cool about the car hobby. No one else is interested, however, they don't impede my enjoyment.

  19. Its nice living on a mountain top.My neighbor on the other side of me on his half of the mountain and raiseds cows. He was out on his tractor going by my cabin and stopped and talked to me. He said I thought that crack head down at the bottom of the hill was cooking up meth till I went past your shop yesterday and saw the blue paint blowing out the exhaust fan. Good times.LOL.Bruce.

Well, I guess I moved into hamb friendly nervania. I sold the house in Las Vegas Moved out to Pahrump,Nv. About 60 miles outside Vegas. Its pretty Mayberrish but I love it. Bought a nice home on an acre of land with about 7 cars worth of garage with room to add if I like. I moved in with all my tri 5 chevy stuff and model A stuff and a neighbor down the street stopped and introduced himself he has all the same cars. Kinda freaky. They have a pretty large car culture out hear. They just built a large road race course with driving school. further up is a very active 3/8 mile dirt track. In fact if you dont have an old clapped out dirt track car in the front yard as yard art something is missing.lol. Have had lots of car guys come buy and welcome me to the town and let me know whats happening car wise. Pretty active. I m one of the younger neighbors at 62 and help some of the old folks. no problems yet with neighbor about noise.Old friends in vegas ask me if im happy out here..........Its not for everyone but for me its just what the Dr. ordered.lol.

  21. Danny, we all like you here you old goat. LOL.I am the old goat that lives on top of the mountain here. LOL.Bruce.

I live in 3WLarry's hometown, so hell yeah, it's HAMB friendly. And as soon as I can swing it, there's gonna be another pre '65 ride pissing off the squares.

The wife and I bought a 2500 sq ft home on 5 acres here in NorCal cattle country. We're up on a bluff with a 270 degree view and only about 12 homes in our "neighborhood", all on mandated 5 acres lots. Four out of the six homes at our end of the block are car guys but none are HAMB friendly mostly muscle cars and 4x4 trucks. No issues with neighbors so far. I have the only car lift and they all have used it at one time or another. Same with the tire changer.
Our community has a lot of hot rods and muscle cars but you don't see them just "out for a drive", only at the local shows/cruises.
This is a huge change from the 600 sq ft house on a 40'x100' lot that I left behind in L.A.
