I had a old timer that had these small caps on top of his king pins that were short aluminum spikes. And he said Pete and Jake is where he bought them but I call and they never heard of them. Does anyone know or seen them I would like to get my hands on a pair for my hotrod thank you

  2. Look at a motorcycle catalogue, they make all types of spike things to go over bolts, handle bars, etc. Most kingpin caps are just siliconed or epoxied on anyway.

I had some small stainless caps about 30 years ago. Don't remember where I got them.

I made caps for mine out of freeze plugs, but this sounds interesting too. R5.jpg

  5. many years ago i bought a bunch of them from PSI aka Ford Obsolete in Rosemead California. i have since run out of them and needed some for my `30 coupe , made contact with Jim at Ford Obsolete ....they are out of stock , but a batch is in process of getting polished now. he is not sure what the price will be

they snap on the kingpin tops , no gluing needed

  6. P&J used to have a slightly domed cap that came attached to their kingpins. But that was in '86 when I built my car.

  8. When Pete & Jake were just getting started in their first shop in Temple City, our shop ran a couple thousand aluminum king pin caps for them. Apparently when those were gone, they never had any more made. I imagine that's where gene Scott got the ones he sold at PSI. Wish I would have kept a pair.

but i just called Pete & Jakes , they sell the tops only for $20 a pair...part # 1039-AC. they need to be glued on. i have a pair coming from them , not sure when or if PSI will have them available

Spiked? Like what your bulldog wears on his collar? Will you have lug nuts to match?
