Event Coverage Here we go again..... Colorado Hot Rod Hill Climb

Didn't know that I was really going to get to go but just pulled into the KOA. The dog came along so I had to bring it's house. I invited the wife and she goes nowhere without the dog. You will see the rolling earthquake, the dogs house.
Spent the first night in Antonito Colorado .

Got to hear the hiss of steam and smell the coal fire all night.
Then on to Leadville, CO. I had a great Grandfather who kept a saloon there and died there. I have a special connection.
Yes, it's snow clouds.

Out for a drive around Leadville.

What a great way to see beautiful country! Vowed to get back through there some day driving this cab instead of hauling it.

Have fun. I love the hotrod hill climb, although i have to miss it this year.

 

Went for a drive in Central City. I believe that the course is up Virginia Canyon road. If it is, it is a good climb.
Just some photos of the area. When I get confirmation of the course, I'll post photos of it. Until cars and folks start showing up, you get stuck with photos of the area. off to do some tuning for 9000' altitude.

If I remember my junk correctly and no one has moved it, there is on old cement mixer in Nevadaville with Model A wheels on it.

There is also an old Coleman FWD truck abandoned on a dead end road on the other side of the Central City expressway.

 

I would have been pulling in today but life got in the way. Post a lot of pictures for us.

 

I am loading up in the morning and will be up there in the afternoon. I can't wait!
