Yeah, it kind of worked out that way. I keep thinking, "maybe i could make Greer" but realistically spring.

Got to set it down on the springs today. Looks pretty good. It does sit higher then i hoped but i dont have anything in the car yet, so i am assuming some settling will occur. 14362518_10207332972867006_229911810421362187_o.jpg

125? does that sound right? It was the lightest they had. I was expecting them to settle to 8" they only went down to 9.5" but as you can see there isnt much in the car.

Sounds like a good starting point. Southern Flyer was running spring rates in the low 100's, talked about it just recently in his thread. He was trying a bunch of different springs. Not sure he posted his findings but he is always helpful!!

Got everything on but the shock mounts, gonna throw those on and then pull it, and finish weld everything. Here it is with the panhard bar, i made it long on purpose. I can always shorten it. 14352049_10207333394757553_6956166864593474195_o.jpg

running A/gas. I am a little concerned about weight, but we will see. I weighed it a while back when it was similar to how it is sitting now, no front clip, but a iron headed engine, with no rotating assembly, T5 trans, and i think an old aluminum bell housing (strictly for mock up) no cage but steel floors. and it weighed 1540 if i remember right.

Got the Rearend housing painted, it will be going out to the builder this week. Should only take him a month or three to finish it up from here, he is really fast ;) 14525084_10207501660924102_5089724575427102482_o.jpg

And, got the front clip back on and checking to see how the front is sitting now that i lowered it. I am pretty happy. I would like it a fuzz lower, but cant do much at this point unless i want to start redesigning stuff...not so much. I think the car will probably settle a little also. there is still a lot of stuff that needs to go back into the car. 14543726_10207501676764498_5264592729798699746_o.jpg

Boy you guys are lucky with the lighter weights, in 64' I had to weigh 9 lbs to run B had 700 lbs in it to make class, then in 66' they took 2 lbs off and I took the 700 out and ran at 2300 lbs for B

Had a 3/8" steel plate welded between the rear frame rails using a very large Buss Battery and 3 big pieces of lead bolted to the plate

When they went to 7 lbs I put in a reg size battery and a water tank to help cool it down using a bait tank pump

The water tank worked great as 3 runs in a row on a hot summer day it would get pretty hot with the small Crosley radiator, just turn on the little pump and watch the temp gauge come right down

Yep, they are Pontiac 867s. Which is basically the predecessor to the Brodix 10x head. their are many versions of this head, mine are the plain Jane 23degree ones.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
It's not plagiarism, it's team work
If you imitate one you're unoriginal, if you imitate many it's research
You know you're winning when you're being copied
Imitation is at least 50% of the creative process
