Sites live guys! I have a ton of content to add still and we're getting new stuff daily! http://www.nehrkhistory.com I will be set up at the Hotrod Fallout in Glastonbury CT on Oct. 8th stop in and say hi!
Grew up in Saugus;home of the Adventure Car Hop.Associate member of the,"Route 1 Timing Association"(lol). My grandfather had a summer cottage on Lake Attitash in Amesbury. Pinstriped my first car in 1957.
Have you seen what is being built in Australia and Sweden? They have really latched on to the 40's/50's car culture from the U.S..
Only what is on here. I honestly think nobody cares about true 50s rods on hamb, except for a small handful that actually reply to such things. The hamb custom guys do real good, but the hamb rodders...not so good at all with 50s style I never saw a highboy in eastern CT, meaning going way back
I think you are right! I tried to build my 32 Roadster to a 50's look. But my first build back in the 60's was a chopped and channeled 32 five window. All the hot rods that I remember in CT. and N.Y. & N.J. where either Full Fendered or Channeled. But I was lusting after a West Coast Hi-Boy. See my plate!
If your old 60s build is not on this thread, you should add it, pronto. I miss the diversity of the old styles. I find it odd about some editor starting the whole east coast "box". If you read about all the survivors found all over the USA, you start to see "east coast" in every state. your old coupe.....if you still had it.........and spent the day at LARS this year, you actually could find your car when it was time to leave..
I have posted a few photos. The guy I sold it to still has it but it has not seen sunlight in years. Here are a few pic's
Larry Robbins Portsmouth NH back when Larry and Me checking it out last year at a car show. Now has a Pontiac motor.
