Ok,as much as you wanted to you didn't make it to the salt this year, you missed TROG or LARS ~ sometimes work or life throws you a curve and you end up dreaming about that epic adventure instead of living it.

You have let another year slip by and your project is still stalled, time or money is the primary reason or you worked your tail off and still didn't finish your project in time to take that road trip you have dreamed about for what seems like a eternity.

What it boils down to is what's on your calendar for 2017 ? HRP

Danny, this year is far from over for me. Hershey next week, Henderson N.C. the following weekend and the Dawsonville Moonshine Festival the following weekend. October has been a busy month for me for many years.

Day before yesterday it was the Turlock swap meet. Never before have I seen (and got practically swept away by) epic crowds of curious onlookers, with their multitudinous offspring!
People from all walks, just walking along, not looking at anything, just walking along slowly...bunched together...in a daze...
When they got to the end of the rows of sellers, they were drawn to the shiny display of cars for sale. There, they seemed to 'disperse', but only for about 15 feet.
They migrated to the Chevrolet area, (not designated, but a preponderance of Chevys were in one spot, and I could see them 'spearheaded' toward that spot...)

Wife Joey and I walked to the center of the area, where a familiar '32 roadster sat...maroon, with a 4 jugger on a 59AB, '39 box, nice off-white cockpit tarp, a faux 'Bell' 4 spoke, and the race# 32 on the doors.
Late model rear end, hung on a transverse 'A' spring (Speedway) 16" wheels, a very neat '32.

There was a small number of guys that came up, snapped a few pics, and walked...so we were able to look this one over. (Ivory-faced gauges, but tasteful...)
    Whose car is this?
It 'liberated' us from the maddening crowd. For that we were thankful.
I scored a nice Sig Erson cam for my 406 (for my '54 Ford Coupe)

There was a guy with some wishbones and axles...sitting over on the other side, he had a STEEL (no rust!) '27 Turtle deck, cherry quarters, lower valance, and perfect catwalk!
Lid was missing, and fenderwells were neatly cut out. Easy fix!
Only wanted $350, I would have taken it, but we were in Joey's BMW.
First time I ever went to a swap meet without my F100!!!!!

    So, Danny...That's how I ended MY 2016!!! Grim...

My 2016 was sparse, to say the least! My only outings were Run to the Sun and Steel in Motion.

My 2017 may be much like 2016 with one exception...I plan on hitting the '46 hard! The stars are aligning for a gathering of a few at my place to get a couple big things done, then I will be able to tackle many smaller things, whether on my own or with assistance. I would love to have it running and stopping by summer, but we'll have to see how it goes.

As for calendar...spring AutoFair, probably Steel in Motion, wishing for TROG...after that, it's all up in the air!

We're just coming into swap meet season up here in Ontario, Canada. I've got a few big items to sell along with about 1,000 magazines. So I've got to do some hustling and earn some hotrod money.

I've been working on the yard evenings and weekends until the sun goes down, then organizing and sorting out the garage. A new deck is the last household project before winter, as I'm earmarking this winter to get back to work on the 34.
Plans are to at least have the chassis finished by spring. I want to drive the 34 before next winter.

Other than that, the only thing on the calendar so far for 2017 is the Hotrod Hill Climb.

I am just going to keep plodding along as always. One foot in front of the other. It has always worked for me and hopefully it always will.

Don't forget to mention the Hot Rod Hill Climb and a Hot Hod Dirt Drags. These two events have become two of the best and purest hot rod events that I've ever attended. If you haven't been to one of these two you have to before you die. So why not just plan on summer 2017.

Help my son get his OT truck done and then switch it out with my Olds. There is a knee replacement in my future early winter,so we will see how long that mess takes. I would like to do alot more artwork which is something I have loads of material to use.Finish my 62 Yellowstone Camper we moved down next to the river and get my 58 yellowstone rebuilt to use for camping.Take in some shows maybe.Buffalo Motorama Open Wheel Room Iam involved with. More sprintcar , and motocross races with my son and his buddies. Biggest thing is staying focused on what NEEDS to be done and the rest will fill in where it happens.
    Bonneville would be nice but.....

  12. I hope a knee doesn't take as long as a shoulder. Had mine done in February and it pretty much destroyed 2016 for me. Luck with the surgery none the less.

Pull the engine in the T and clean, detail and paint it, replace soft plugs, generally go over the rest of the car and put residual valves in the brake system. All the stuff I was going to do LAST winter.
Just about got the Buick mobile so it wil run drive and stop under its own power. Make it easier to clear a stall for short projects.
Made the SK500 and the HAMB Drags this year, got to meet Sam Strube and Beaner so my summer is a success, lol.

I could have listed a long list of great events along with the ones you posted but it would be remiss if I didn't give a nod to the Hot Rod Hill Climb,SEG or the All Deuce Run.

Due to my accident back in February and the long recovery time my plans didn't come to fruition this year but I am making plans for 2017 even though there is still a few event's left on the calendar for this year.

One project is to finally put a heater in the old beater so I won't freeze my arse off when the weather gets frigid. HRP

I got a road trip planned for the fall colors along the parkway with some bud's in October. And there are still a few cruise nights and fair days for driving left.

Having a shoulder replacement due to a accident resulted in most all of my car related activity's planned took a backseat this year.

    Beeno & I swapped a lot of PM's with our PT story's.:D

Good luck with the knee replacement and do what the orthopedic doctors & the physical therapist tell you to do,it's not fun and at times painful but you can do it. HRP

I hate to say it but I'm almost looking forward to this winter. I know I'll regret that I said that. Been working on the house and property and it's been eating me alive and I need a change of stuff to do.

Plan on working on the 32, a couple of gas pumps and framing some signs I have. Also sit by the fire and sip on a cold beverage praying for a mild winter.

Other than that as long as I can stand up and make a fist I'm good to go.

Still time to attend the Nostalgia Nationals in Bowling Green, KY October 14-16. Great to be at an event without heat and humidity.

Only made it to 3 swap meets this year made some money, probably scored some of the best parts I have in a long time. Winter is coming and my buddy and I get some crazy work done when its cold. Burn the wood and crank the tunes nobody does anything here in the winter so every weekend is wide open.
