At the 1967 world finals Joe Davis drove the Davis & Ingram Jewel T AA/A to the Super eliminator title when final-round opponent Walt Marrs broke out by running .14-second under the national record with a 10.29. Davis’ winning time was a 9.11 on a 9.03 mark.

If I build another car, rp1.jpg rp2.jpg rp3.jpg it's going to be more nostalgic and look like the Rat Poison. I love the look of this car. Not my photos

That is neat never saw it either. wonder if the photos were taken at different times to mount the body differently. Look at the top B&W shot how far the front of the body is pointing down, unless the frame is flexing on launch, then look at the body in the left color photo below it the body is much more "level" ???

That car was run for sometime. I'm sure the body mounting was changed over the years.

    Hello,
Back in 1959, I took this movie clip at Lions Dragstrip. (standing underneath the tower...a no no, but a great position for filming) This poor little Fiat was having a bad day. The odd thing is 57 years later, it gets posted on a thread about Fiats. But, that is not the only thing that is strange...RRuss from the HAMB was also at Lions on the same day, taking his movies at the same time, catching the same fire on this little white Fiat. That is certainly a coincidence. For sure... a "Twilight Zone"moment in time...

Just had to bring this hell of a shot over here from the Fiat thread. Kudos to mad mikey for finding and posting this shot. I have never seen any photos of the matching tow car.

  21. Thanks for posting! The pic with our 57 Pushtruck was at Island Dragway in 1965. The pic below it was taken at Etown the day Scott Kalitta died. It is not a restored version. It is the Tribute car, an active racecar, which we now own. My father is the original driver an founder of Valley Stream Pacers which evolved into Pacers Auto with his partner, the late great Charlie Dodge.

Stagecoach was an Austin Ruby, Jag powered
Driven by Barry Sheavills who went on to become the first 300mph top fuel driver in Europe.

Shutdown was Freddie Whittle, 392 Hemi on fuel. One of the stalwarts of English fuel altereds in the early days. It was sold on to Mike Hall and he then built a second version on a funny car chassis

I'll get back with more English altereds!

Bo Bertilsson from Sweden purchased the car from Keith and called it Berzerk! Great name and the car still survives in Sweden to this day

All photos from Alan Currans and his excellent website www.theaccelerationarchive.co.uk documenting European drag racing history.

I'll be back with more! and some comp altereds
