Last pic of this mockup I took last night. I'm taking the body apart today and stripping the old paint and inside undercoating stuff off before mol***es time. The door hinge pins and wood framing should be a hoot. I will brace the roof halves some before taking out the wood or they run a serious risk of being terribly messed up.

Looks awesome! I think it's going to have one of those "can't quite put my finger on it" looks to it, like a subtle custom has. Make sure to take photos of how all the wood is in their currently, I tend to forget how things went together if I don't have a photo.

Glad to seenyournsyill chipping away at it. Hope the mol***es works as you hope

Man !! That sure is a looker already. "Hubba hubba" yes sir !! Good luck today, man.

I was wondering about the SBF talk here, and FE discussion via valve covers on the 84 year old frame thread. Hmmm' .... still traditional 221-260-289 with 1964 Ford engines. As a matter of fact, one fun motor can be built with different insides utilizing all those early outsides. (I can get in trouble here.) Awesome stuff Wyatt, even can be done on the cheap so to speak.

Check out Dan Gurney SBF stuff for inspirations, maybe even the the bundle of snakes exhaust !! Thru the cab and into the bed ! Wooohooo !! :)

Hell yeah! Crazy headers would be cool. I was just planning on a stepped tri-Y design for era correctness on Runnin Shine. But if I saw something they did more elaborate in 65 or so on a early Windsor I might get nuts.
My 310ci and 342ci engines are both of the late model "roller" variant from my days of affordable drag race addiction. Headers and intake style are going to be the biggest drawbacks to getting their intended modern power numbers while looking traditional.
The PU won't see the good motor until I can find the funds to get much bigger ported heads than I had and sold to help Hubba along.
Now back to are regular 40s program.

Any before and after photos of your smalls? Your tub etc?

I'm probably going to sandblast most of my stuff but I'm curious about the mol***es for sheet metal like your doing.

    Wyatt,
It looks as if you've found an example of the previously unknown 1932 1/2 model!
    I like it!

What do you mean? The talk all over the web is that it's a one of special build for Edsel [emoji12] and all he did was yank the fenders and fix the rust. [emoji13]

    Still looks good 'shine!!
Love the way you think and then makes it happen. Especially the cowl ideer!
Usual rule of thumbs, if you don't see it a lot, it ain't traditional.
But this is Era Perfect frontline vision and hot rod thinking! Like one would see back in the day, but no cookie cutter from the 50s.

Thanks Terry, if you read from the beginning, you would find that is exactly one of the things I was in envisioning in my melon. Well that and a bunch of fellas who thought it would turn out looking stupid. Lol

Tim, I've used vinegar (10 gallons of water for each gallon of vinegar) to good effect. You have to check it periodically as it will eat the base metal if left too long. Wash with baking soda & water to neutralize it when you're done.

Wyatt, loving the build. Thanks for keepin' on.

I've used vinegar on some parts before and for the amount of work it was setting it up and then neutralizing and cleaning the parts I wasn't really that impressed. It got them clean but for the amount of work i could have manually cleaned them just as quick/well

  16. So do we get to see any of those parts in the SUR-UP..............................???? I'm still up in the air about it but I can't wait to see your panels after.

  17. Headlight bar:confused: Where???:D Rollin bones hides all;) Let's go bro. Keep hustling Wyatt I'm trying to do 2 weeks of work in now 2 days. Stressed out I'm am. I'm looking forward to seeing the cowl done and hood on for that wtf. Is that a 32 or 34 holy hell that thing is bad***. Innovation, dedication, inspiration.......

    Tim/Paintslinger,
Mol***es is the bomb! It removes all the rust, frees up stuck parts, is non-toxic, does not attack base metal, and you only have to remove grease and loose paint before you soak. Check out this thread:

Mol***es sure does the trick. I usually soak for 2 weeks. Some parts require couple days more. I pressure wash the shmeg off 'em and wipe surfaces with Eastwood "Afterblast" for flash rust protection.

Ok, I keep forgetting to respond to this query.
I broke my nose, got a bunch of s***ches, some super glue, and a mild concussion to the face two weeks ago so I've been off. I have been working on the car still albeit slow and sloppy second to other projects. I still managed to do my annual old guys on old minibikes race a few days after my ****oo incident.
As for the Mol***es... My tank is just remnants of the "frame table" shorten down, flipped over, then boxed in with s**** 1/2" plywood. I'm using clear plastic and a heavy duty waterproof tarp to line it. The rusty parts will rest on another sheet of plywood inside to not puncture the lining. I haven't filled it yet cause I still haven't dealt with the hinge pins or wood inner panel structure(soon though).
The "smalls" that are in a a 55gal drum look great except I didn't get any flash rust preventative for them. I ordered a POR15 zinc spray product that's not here yet for the body panels.
Here an example of some smalls
    [IMG]
I received the 15" wheels from Tony for the pickup that I was going to test in mockup on the Tudor.
I'm not going to bother now I'm thinking of just one size bigger than I have on there now. You have to fight the homogenized urge around here with a period 40s beast.
Got this old chrome fuel pump top from a HAMB member. Cleaned it up a bunch
    [IMG]
I saved a original fuel pump stand Ford Mike gave me and polished it up. Now I'm trying to polish out an old pump body I have to blend in and I bought a NOS. AC rebuild kit to put it all back together.
I also really want to commandeer this unused and unappreciated garage in town for my projects.
Until that magically happens I'll just get back to soaking parts. I'll add a pic of my tank ASAP.
