The Corvette with the Riv headlights is actually a pretty cool looking idea. If it had some redlines or double stripe tires or something and straight-spoke wheels, it would really have a 60's show car look to it. I'm sure many hate it but I kinda like it.

Its a 1940 Desoto with (maybe) 1938 Graham headlight buckets, if my memory is correct it has a different front clip than a normal '40 Desoto. Very kool ride... Here some older pictures with different headlights.

  19. I believe that is a 1940 De Soto. The headlights look to me like 1939 Graham.
No idea, but that's my guess.

Mick beat me! I don't think the front clip is different, I just think it has part of the Graham fenders incorporated in order to graft in the headlights.

This is scary but I thought I read it had a different front end. I'll see if I can find the Traditional Rod and Kulture magazine that I saw the article. Could have changed it again since the issue.

Man, Kipper's coupe on the salt... If that doesn't do it for you, nothing will. Beautiful car and great photography. Thanks, it made my morning.

  22. Are you maybe thinking of this 1942 Plymouth with the 1940 Zephyr front clip?

Post 3972; 1st picture with the root beer brown chevy

Looks like a 1948 Cadillac grille, but what vehicle is the bumper from?

    Thanks

I don't know what the front bumper is, but that is Fabian Valdez' fabulous '49 Chevy.
It is worth a search for many reasons, not the least of which is it's Studebaker V8!
