Hot Rods (S)ELECTION 2016 - FINAL RESULTS IN!

So the big day is finally coming and an important decision has to be made. The two candidates share a mutual platform in that they disappoint many, (reproduction speed 33 body, not traditional ). But it is what we have to work with so on with the election.

Preliminary caucuses have narrowed the selection to these two chromological candidates.

Candidate A, Black.

The traditional choice of many. The platform for this candidate boasts many pro's;
1. "you can any color as long as it's black" (hero endorsement)
2. There are only 2 colors, black and ugly (that came off one of your signature lines)
3. Looks mean and business like (and by business you know what I mean)
Con's;
1. Maintenance of gloss black on a driven car
2. With a Tan top? (already upholstered)
3. There are a shit ton of black cars in the world.

Candidate B, Maroon

Running under the independent ticket, the maroon candidate is a worthy alternative.
Pro's
1. Very Ford color choice (the actual shade is Ford Royal Maroon)
2. Looks "tight and right" with the tan top and brown interior
3. Stands out from the huddled masses
Con's
1. It's not black
2. That's a bout all I have for cons.

And please, no write in candidates (Falcongeorge, I'm talking to you and that dark green suggestion earlier in the primaries ).

So please do your car-oholic duty and hit the poll and make the H.A.M.B. "rate" again.

I've been told that the Maroon has a bad habbit of lying all the time..makes you think its great,but NOTHING says it like Black

 

Going with maroon, I think it goes better with the tan top.
Just my opinion, and we all know what that's worth...

 

Even in the photoshops the black "washes out" some of the detail in the bodyand makes it look even more smoothed out than it is. The body details show better in the maroon.

Hard choice, but I went with black, cause Hot Rods look bad ass in black.

I think your #3 con for black is almost as relevant for Maroon these days. It may just be the photoshop but I agree with Sancho that the Maroon gives more life to the body details especially the front end.

They did say I'd go blind if I didn't stop doing "that".
I vote the best of both worlds, if done tastefully, two tone can work.

Im going to "trump the bitch" and go with maroon. Matches the top much better.

Just did my Deuce roadster in maroon so I guess I'm biased.

 

The media would have a field day if that got out Douglas. And 2 TONE??? So Chip Foose. Don't make me call you Tommy Two Tone.

 

maybe I'm a bit color blind but that "black" looks a bit brown. But I'll vote black anyway.

I am independent and will always go for the PRIMER candidate.

Not Sorry, just don't go for the Painted candidates,,

 

problem is: i don't like either choice.............either.

 

(S)ELECTION UPDATE 2016:
According to the exit polls, Maroon is showing a slight lead at nearly 53% of the votes counted.

Many interviewed have sighted an "obscurity of the lines" in Candidate A and that Maroon appears to be "more transparent". One voter interviewed had this to say

Many have taken sides with the Maroon party for this reason.

A Maroon supporter was overheard saying

Interesting as voter sentiment seems to be running deep and voter biases may win the day.

On the bandwagon in support of his candidate kiwijeff added

Hard to argue with sound reasoning like that.

Still there are those on the fence, wavering in bipartisan uncertainty. For more we go to Central Oregon and an interview earlier today with DDDenny

It makes you think, not long... but it does make you think.

The eastern states are weighing in heavily but the tumbleweed effect should not be discounted as happy hour nears the west cost.

Maroon.

 

My vote is 100% maroon. However, don't forget, black cars matter.

 

I like the maroon better. If the black one wins, I am moving to Canada.

 

I prefer the black, but don't care for the top color on either.

 

I think maroon looks better in the pics, but in person I will take a black car any day.

Well @Bandit Billy my mantra is "two colors for a hot rod, black or ugly"

That said my favorite ugly color is maroon. That was my vote. I personally would prefer it with a light dusting of gold (very minimal metallic)and the deepest darkest maroon available. it gives it high lights that just draw you in. Or if you are an exceptional paint guy a gold over spray.

But maroon would be my choice if I was in a position to choose.
