With Maroon leading in the early poles my advisors telling me this (S)ELECTION is rigged!

(S)ELECTION 2016 UPDATE:
This just in, breaking news on attempts of election fraud. Some voters have tried to vote more than once in an attempt to sway the outcome, this brings questions by at least one of the candidates that the system may be rigged. One such attempt was witnessed by our on the scene reporter who overheard the following conversation

We have been told that there were safeguards in place to prevent this action.

Day 2 results indicate a widening lead by the Maroon front runner as evidenced by the following poll update showing Maroon with slightly more than 72% of the votes counted.

This with just 59 votes tallied out of the thousands of registered voters on the H.A.M.B. Black trails but this early in the (s)election it is too close to call the paint the paint store.

That poll would definitely be left up to the "Maker's Mark" on the ballot form sir.

With these two camps being the only options and embroiled in controversy many HAMBERS will refuse to vote feeling they are not being properly represented.

F'n George had it right. The Green Party must be on the ballot or it is rigged. Tree Hugger Green or Canada will invade. And Whoopi will move to there.

George had me going with that green, the pic he sent me on PM was deep, almost black. In fact I thought it was black at first. He really sent me to the drawing board but the Maroon color means a bit more to me than just a hue.

My dad, RIP, went down to Francis Ford in Portland to rent a camper for vacation in the 60's. Years before Chevy Chase did the same thing, the salesman sent him home in a country squire wagon, the "family truckster" of its day. He bought it because it was Maroon and he had a soft spot for the color. That was my original choice for the car and the reason but foolishly I had the body primered in black to prevent rusting while I built it. And it looks good. Thus the dilemma and the horns in which I find myself imperiled.

I will cast the final vote (my wife thinks it her call) but the HAMB has shaped most of this build so far. You guys know your hot rods, I couldn't propose to a pickier place to poll the petrol populace. It takes a village...

 

Let's see... black is the absence of all color. Would that eliminate it then? And despite what politicians, Presidents and dictators around the world think, it's not all that "classy" to me. It's like the default setting for those with no imagination. Howeve, maroon is a real color, at least, and I think it's cooler than black. But I'd shoot for a more unusual shade than what everyone expects. Take your time and look at all the maroons out there. Gary

 

A '73 GM color called midnight green looks black in the shade and green in the sunlight. Had it on a '34 sedan once.

 

I love black cars, as long they are in someone else's garage!!

 

I painted my 1946 Harley maroon because its an old time color---------------and for years I have had people ask me, "Is that your BROWN Harley?!!!!!

That crap gets old.

(S)ELECTION UPDATE 2016:
In day three of polling the Maroon candidate continues to demonstrate a sizable lead over it's opponent although the margin does show signs of narrowing;

With 83 votes tallied Maroon showing a 67.5% favor in the polls.

Today's Update features a point/counterpoint format as voting continues to show bipartisanship and equal reporting.

P. Beauty can be high maintenance, it is best to know ones limits.

There are many color blind people in the world, a good thing in easing social and racial tensions but a bad thing when commenting on your girlfriends eyes, picking out a tie to wear, trying to tell if the pregnancy test is blue or green or telling the difference between the Johnny Walker you serve your guests and the one for your own personal consumption. Understand and sympathize with their short coming and never tell them they are pouring you the Johnny Walker Blue.

I choose Maroon. They both look great, but maroon is easier to photograph under most conditions.

 

My Gold fish, Alive and Deceased, are registered as HAMB members, and all voted for BLACK

 

With the tan top and the hue of the wheels it will look better maroon.

However if you should ever decide to change the shade of Two of the easiest things to change ,,, well it might be different.


According to wikileaks-
Nothing in the automotive world looks better than a great black ,fresh waxed and clean mile deep black paint job, nothing PERIOD. However it is impossible to keep it that way for longer than 5 mins.

I'm a big fan of black for early hot Rods, but I have to admit that the maroon looks really good in that photoshop pic. If you do go with maroon, I'd suggest a very dark tone. If you get it dark enough to be 'almost" black, you can please "almost" everyone. p.s. -- I like the tan top, either way.

 

Up here the black will always have a green tree in it anyway!

 

I like the maroon on mine. And it's two tone. Ever thought of a maroon body, black frame and splash aprons. Even a black firewall maybe?

Wanna here something that will give you a chuckle or at least a WTF moment? I have been in love with maroon literally all my life, I have never owned a maroon car or bike. Maybe someday.

(S)ELECTION 2016 UPDATE:
This just in, Justin Timberlake @dickinthebox has cast his vote. We at the update desk would like to remind voters that taking selfies in the polling booth is illegal, egotistical and sort of strange.

The demeanor of the pictured voter does indicate his possible displeasure with his Black selection or the possibility that he was in fact listening to his latest album while he was in the polling booth. We may never know...or care.

News of continuing "ballot rigging" are surfacing as evidenced by the following

One would think that gold fish, if truly registered and living, would choose the hue of rush549's beautiful 3 window. Thank goodness they are not neon tetras.

The "October Surprise" the highly anticipated leak that is rumored could change the face of this (s)election was finally delivered this morning.

Polling has yet to be dramatically affected by the startling announcement. The current numbers show Maroon with 68.7% of the 99 votes cast.
