HA! Lenny Bruce was an iconoclast! The ONLY way he would have voted black was if everyone else was voting white!

 

I often hear otherwise intelligent people complaining about drivers who slow down when driving past a traffic accident. They curse them and call them rubberneckers. I don't understand this at all. I am never in too big a hurry that I can't stop and watch someone else's suffering. The bigger the accident the better, as far as I am concerned. Well, since the FBI has re-opened the investigation into one of the two candidates with 11 days to go( I love my wild and crazy neighbours to the south, never a dull moment!), I figure "maroon" might be indicted before this deal is done, so heres a "write-in", keeping in mind the brown top...


and no, I'm not suggesting you put WWW's and Supremes on it, Good GOD man, the colour, THE COLOUR!!
I know I have said this before, but its not like there are packs of ravenous lions stalking you, it IS ok to stand out from the herd, you wont be devoured alive!

 

(S)ELECTION 2106 UPDATE
As the few remaining voting days draw to an end the Maroon candidate continues it's lead in the polls though the margin is showing signs of narrowing. The current standings in the electoral process are as follows with the Maroon candidate possessing 68.7% of the 131 votes cast thus far.


In current news, investigations into possible email infractions by the poll leader has raised concern among the voting electorate. One voter was over heard saying

In defense, the Maroon party's official media spokesman emailed the Update desk stating that only a "basic" color would do such a thing. The email came from his personal account.

Meanwhile from our roving reporter living somewhere north of Washington state, commented;

The statement adds high octane fuel to the fire that the pigment leader's campaign is running lean and may be in danger of stalling.

One of the most intriguing and introspectual ( I might have made that word up) exit polls today was recorded stating;

When I was a little kid, the neighbor had a 62 vette with cream insets. It was the neatest color ever.

I don't know a whole lot about anything and
not being a smart ass and no disrespect, but
a '62 Vette never came with a different color
cove. That stopped in '61 which was the last
year with the chrome surrounded coves.
I did have a '62.

 

I'd conceded that You are correct, I was just about 4 1/2 yrs old when I first saw it.
He sold it when I was about 10.
What are the chances he painted the coves?

 

On painting the coves, when the '62 came out,
it was the "new" design. It already had the tail
section of the '63 Stingray. As I recall, the guys
with the earlier 'Vettes were taking off the chrome
and painting the coves the same color as the rest
of the car, not the other way around. Back in the day,
as is still the case with hot rodding, guys will often
modernize earlier cars with things that make their
cars look newer. I can't find any pix of my '62, but
it had ralley wheels from a '67 'Vette, an easy way
to update, then and now.

It should be fairly obvious, but I will also point out that '31hemi and I have posted two different Corvette colours, I posted '55/'57 Aztec Copper, and 31Vicky posted '61/'62 Fawn Beige. The colour 31vicky posted was used on one of John Mumfords cars that was in TRJ, and is an excellent choice.
When I look at BB's car, really, I still see one colour, a rich, dark metallic green, but he has already given that a thumbs down. To me the root beer brown is a 'second best" choice. My gut says dark green is the right colour for THAT car, and when it come to picking colours, I listen to my gut.


I honestly just cannot wrap my head around this current HAMB idea that hot rods can only be black or maroon. I own a car that is black (I didn't paint it that colour) and I own one car that will eventually be painted black,only because it has a factory red factory 4 speed/console interior and I don't want to mess with that, it is not a HAMB friendly car, its a "musclecar". Like Lenny Bruce, I am a committed iconoclast, so I will never paint a "traditional" hot rod black or maroon, I wouldn't do it, JUST BECAUSE the HAMB says I have to. I want my cars to stand out from the crowd, not blend into the herd, but that's just me.

it would be this color, brush painted of course!

I built a Model A in the 70's and painted it Royal Maroon! Yes the very same Ford color running this year.(see pic)
But after driving it for a couple of years I realized that it was not in keeping with my conservative/traditional ways so I chopped the top, removed the bumpers, added some louvers and painted it Black. Sometimes you just need to change parties.


Sorry about the photo quality of the Black painted A. But you know how the media treats us!
