    The fellow with all the teeth is Joe Concannon a Indy area car dealer and owner/sponsor of the #92 Kurtis in 1962.

  9. It looks like the Southfield Freeway, to me, but I guess that was later like in the early 1960s..

    I was up there about 10 years ago picking up a old sears lawn tractor I got off Ebay and was on that road.

    I wonder how many people realize that the design for the original McDonald's buildings came from Tom Carvel of the Carvel Ice Cream store fame. They asked him if they could use his plans for the first stores because they were just starting out and on a budget.

  23. Sorry but the Arroyo Seco Parkway in L.A. was the first freeway. It opened in 1940, 2 years before the Davison.

  28. Freeways are NOT expressways. They are a different animal. An expressway always has "service drives" on each side. Freeways do not.
