Thanks Daddy_o's_Diner , I read all of your trend on your build. I'm definitely wanting to get my 32 chopped 5 or 5.5 inches.
I wouldn't have anybody but Baron chop my original 32 hot rod . It would be 5 inch the way Baron likes, but I'm torn wether to chop an original 5 window from the fifties . What do the TRUE hot rodders think
Hi Tommy. I, for one, would not chop it. It has survived this long without being chopped I would like to see if left as it was built back in it's day. Beautiful car. I look at pictures of my last 5W, and if I could turn back time, I would have left it another old Hot Rod that survived almost 50 years un-chopped. Guess that is the difference between 30 year old and 65 year old thinking !
I guess the one positive thing about getting older is you get wiser, but as everyone in New England knows, that Baron is one talented craftsman and a true hot rodder fashioned from a bygone era !
I love chopped Five windows having owned three. But if that picture is yours I would not chop it. Looks perfect just the way it is. I also owned this one but sold it rather than chop it. I am sorry I sold it.
Thanks Baron, I like the shiny black 32 with the moon disc. My 32 5 window is getting chopped next week.
My Dad's got a '32 five-window that is chopped 5-1/2". It was done many decades before he got the body. We used to think it was rather radical, but the current chopping trends are making it common.
I really like a stock height 5 window although there are a few that are chopped 3" or so that look killer. I've seen one 5 window that was chopped 2", just enough to make you guess if it was chopped or not but a nice subtle change. This is one of the nicest chops on a 5 window that you will ever see. A lot of the heavily chopped ones look out of proportion to me. The 5" chopped ones look like a kids toy that was left laying around and got stepped on
Daveh1932 thanks for video. I couldn't understand a thing that you said. You talk different than us Texans. ha
In L.A. in the 50's you had to pass the Dollar Bill tall windshield glass (Not the frame, the glass) test, It's still a good rule of thumb.
Hi Baron, yes I asked for a bunch of photos of the chop. I will post them. Thanks for all your feedback.
Hi Splitbudaba, you will have more fun driving and showing her off. Any more chopped coupes out there? Show me how much chop is on each coupe.
