Folks Of Interest 10 Years on the H.A.M.B.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by fleetside66, Nov 20, 2016.

  1. Where did I put my soap box? :D

Ryan has poured his heart and soul into this site and in my way of thinking it's better than ever.

Times change, that's a fact of life and the HAMB has grown exponentially, the knowledge found here far outweighs any preconceived notion that the site is not as good as it was 10 years ago.

I wholeheartedly disagree with that line of thinking but you reap what you sew!

The Hamb is still the best site on the internet,it's free, including the classifieds and a big plus is the members that are always willing to offer help and a occasional swift kick in the pants if merited. HRP

I read all the time that the HAMB "ain't what it used to be". Well? Neither is "the old grey mare".
Hell, I "ain't what I used to be."
But Ryan hasn't changed, and the spirit is still here. Some of the 'milleniums' (however you spell it) would like to change it, but all they do is shake the studs and rattle the rafters a little...
Rest of us still have our tires on the ground.
I've been around since 2002. Still like it.

  6. Funny how you can state the HAMB has changed over the last 10 years and that automatically makes that statement negative. I love how all the judgemental thinking of the HAMB hasn't changed a bit. I'm glad to have learned to use the ignore button, it's a game changer for me to weed stuff out.

One more comment & we'll put this bad boy to sleep. Quite some time ago I had a really bad day & was so totally bummed it was ridiculous. I signed on to the HAMB before I went to bed & read a thread called "My steering wheel smells like barf." Needless to say, I was laughing so damn hard the tears were rolling down my cheeks. That about says it all.

Congrats on your 10 yrs , I'm going on 6 yrs and would like to thank the Hamb. I've had my 33 coupe for over 43 years , tryed to hot rod it a couple times years ago with no luck . I was just overwhelmed with what I had to do and didn't know how to do much of it . Then I stumbled on to the Hamb started using the search to look how many of you built your cars and decided to give it another try . I was 52 and figured if I was ever going to drive this car I had to get going . With a lot of help from Hambers Nicko and Rusty32 searching , looking at post after post about how to do different things I finished my car . I don't think that would have ever happened without the Hamb . Maybe it was different 10 yrs ago I have now idea but I would be lost without the Hamb today . Thanks

Geez, this thing is still going. It's funny, I alway thought of myself as a "thread killer." I'd chime in on something & send the thread straight to hell. Anyway, the dog's name is Pancho, thank you for asking. He's an old Aussie throwback. Maybe the next one will be Lefty. He's one of those "one in a lifetime" guys. He's really on his last leg, but doesn't know it. We should all be so lucky. Here's a pic of him in my '66 back in his glory years. Yeah, old cars & old dogs.

  20. Well, being "Late to the Party", I've been on the HAMB only a year this month. But I've enjoyed every minute of it! :) Congrats on hitting the 10-year mark. That's a goal I have to look forward to.

After reading this Post, I checked and found that I should have celebrated my 10 years this past April. Where does the time go? I believe if not for the HAMB it would have been a lot slower and duller. There is no other Web Site Like it.

  23. Pancho looks like a great friend, give him a few pets on the head for me.
