My favorite brain fade is going out to the shop for something specific, and getting sidetracked. Returning to the house without what I went there for in the first place.

The memory is the second thing to fail.

I don't remember what fails first.

It seems that when I get myself around the roll cage into the coupes seat and all set, and comfy, I realize I forgot to turn on the battery power switch on the back of the car. Dammit!o_O Turn the switch on, get myself in again and NOW I DONT HAVE MY KEYS! I am a mess!

Yep, all us old guys are the same, with "CRS" being a top issue...........but works great for the "Honey Do" lists as you no longer need to BS the wife, just tell the truth & say "I forgot"............she believes you........

That was funny. Thanks for that!.

When your young, the dumb things you did was excused because you were young and stupid.
By the time you reached your 30s & 40 doing dumb things was looked upon as attempting to relive your childhood.
When you get old, the dumb things you do are excused because your old and forgetful.
    Those middle years were tough!
I'm so happy I've reach that 6-oh number, now I no longer have to pretend to be working on being perfect, and have the perfect excuse. I'm old! Gene

I'm pretty good for 61... but have a habit of putting critical items in safe places. When I need it, I can't find it. I now have a special box in top of my Snap On box for important parts. Also the top drawer has the smaller things which are in labeled envelopes.

With working on the Ford, I can't tell how many 45-minute increments were spent searching for parts. A few times they were in areas that I never kept car parts in.

Rather then Senior Moments I'd like to think you do dumb things because your mind is on other issues and not concentrating on the task at hand.

I hate to admit this but I just about panic when I misplace my phone or leave home without it. In my 60's and I'm like some kid that can't live without my phone. How did I ever survive before I had one. Oh, and then I'll ***** because it seems like the only time I get a call is when I'm busy "doing something important".

  15. Took out the bottom panel of the garage door last week. Pushed the ****on on the opener and put the truck in reverse. $200 plus waiting about three weeks for the factory to make the panel. No one hurt, and the 20-year-old daily driver suffered little. Worried about what's next.

senior moment here! Have built many ground up cars over the years BUT wife's ride is a 2015 Yukon-I have to get the damn manual out every time just to open the hood!! You would think I could recall but no!!! Happens each time-old age I guess. I also have 9/16" wrenches walk away on a regular basis-then magically reappear in some odd place.

I would get more done if I didn't insist on working in chaos. I've always done this and believe out of chaos comes order. This goes for cars, machining, my desk at work and even cooking. But the mess has never been worse than it is today. I still get things done though.

    Another Senior Moment, ,..............****/ Forgot ! ,..........., Did'nt star
    .
How about resetting time on clock or changing a head light, tail light bulb, good thing our new cars come w/ book, I would not know how to set the radio for Pete's sake. Progress ? Gives us mature people headaches, that and CRS, but sometimes it's Fun to laugh at ourselves, have to, "It Is What It Is" my new favorite expression these days.

This reminds me of an old story. Wife sends hubby to the store. She needs milk, bread, and eggs. "Do I need to write it down?" She asks. The indignant reply " I don't need no note to remember 3 things!" And off he goes.

Hubby returns an hour later with ice cream, cookies, and soda. The wife looks at him and screams " I knew I should have sent a note! You forgot the fudge sauce!"

Senior moments are something I hate to think about but they do happen from time to time.

I have one of the nice Keurig coffee machines and one day I added the little cup with the coffee in it and pulled the lever down and walked away !!!!
I forgot to put my coffee cup under it so my coffee was all over the counter top.
Today I made sure to put the coffee cup in first but came back to find a cup full of hot water !!!!!
This time I forget the coffee.

    I hate getting old !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Well my latest Senior moment was about 2 weeks ago. I was out running errands on my motorcycle and dropped a valve. So I pushed it up to the store that was my last errand. texted the wife and went into the store. No that is not a senior moment just a broken scooter.

I'm in the store and the store guy says, "hey that kid is stealing your bike." I look out and here is this wannabe tough kid in his shorts and fairy fliers, kicking his guts out. I broke into serious laughter and said between guffaws , "well he won't get too far." I finally got control of my self about the time the kid looked like he was going to puke and walked out and informed him that it was broken and it was mine. he ran away as fast as his tired little legs would carry him.

Why is that a senior moment you ask? Well 20 years ago it would have made me real mad and I probably would have landed in jail for the beating. Now it is just freakin funny.

  25. It gets better, he had the switch in the wrong position and the bike is kick/electric. If he just knew how to use the starter. LOL

Go to the hardware store for a paint brush, tape and some 1/4-20 bolts.Come out with a light bulb, electrical tape and a couple Reeses Cups from up at the counter.Maybe it was because i got talking with someone upon entering ..........Nah,just getting old.

Or going to 7-11 for some brews, end up getting on the thruway and crossing over the river bridge and then wondering 2 miles up..where the hell Iam I going you dope. Got too much swimming around in my bowl

  27. LOL I have had that problem since I was in my 30s. I went to the market once when I was living in Mexico. Couldn't remember what I was going to get bought one of everything then when I got home I still didn't know what I went after. I must have bought it though cause I couldn't find anything that I needed after I put my groceries away.

Most recent senior moment I think, just turning 55 so barely senior. I bought a part I thought I needed from FleetFarm and upon entering the shop placed the part in the store bag right on top of the same part in a store bag I bought the week before. More good times to come I fear :)
