Vintage shots from days gone by!

My Grandfather again, with some sort of "speedster", and sitting in , I think, a Stutz Bearcat?

 

When I was a kid in the seventh grade I delivered newspapers every morning. The man who delivered the papers to me, and took the money I collected, drove a Volvo just like this one. I don't think I have seen a wagon like this since.

 

And doing it well, I might add.

recently drive in movies came up on facebook....here's my favorite,the 66 in lagrange/countryside,ill ...aka "the passion pit"!!!.....(1949)

 

...and the starlite at 95th st in oak lawn......

opened 1948...........survived tornado 1967...lotsa fun there...go karts,a playgraound,an arcade....sadly,torn down for suburban sprawl 1979...

 

kind of a "subliminal message" in that "Arrow" above the screen
