We are finally getting some much needed rain to help with the Pinnacle Mountain wildfires here in South Carolina which has already claimed over 9000 acres.

I heard this morning it is now 80% contained. HRP

 

This stuff called snow is why we're going to our beach house in Florida for Christmas.

Last year we didn't get any at all. The year before, the first day it snowed, I left for 5 weeks in Vietnam.

Been reading some of the "spirit" posts. My daughter is 7, you ask her anytime what is the best time of year, and you get a different answer, if its February its Valentines day, if its April its Easter, if is October its Halloween, November its Remembrance Day, December, well you figure it out. And I have the privilege of being along for the ride... We put the tree up today. And I shoveled the driveway.

 

Ho, Ho, Ho, these are on the way for my '34. Merry Christmas, and Happy Birthday to me! And thanks to my employer for the year end bonus that paid for them!
(Hint, NOT the coil-overs...)

 

I don't know about the rest of you, but come Christmas morning, I'll be fondling my shaft...

My brother, sister and I were made to go to church, before we were allowed to open our presents.

All these years later, I look back with much fondness of Christmas as I was growing up.

People say they hate how it's been commercialized, but I just smile, and tell em the true meaning of Christmas, is about the birth of baby Jesus, and if they don't like it, don't buy into it.

This sinner hasn't been to church in decades, I can't turn the clock back, but now I can watch the youngsters, and the joy they get from it.

Last year, my Mom commented at Christmas lunch, that there were no kids playing in the street.
She was right. it used to be that all the kids were out hooping and hollering, showing off their new toys. Now they get a device, and run off to their rooms to update their accounts, or whatever.

We are now told its not cool to say, Merry Christmas. you might offend someone of another faith.

I say, Fuck em.

Merry Christmas fellow Hambers, may you all be safe and well , and your families happy.

kids are so cool. She doesn't care that much about the presents and stuff she is real excited just because its Christmas. She LOVES cats, made these cat decorations for the tree totally on her own initiative. I didn't even know she was doing it till she asked me to glue them for her.


Its just so cool to see them so excited. They could care less about fancy or expensive...

 

I've been way too blessed already.... They can give my Christmas gift to the Humane society.

 

Not me man! I don't want some dog running my cam!! besides, it would make him idle "ruff"...

Detroit area had a heavy dusting that stuck for a day Sunday.....

 

Those cats are perfect. Your daughter and my daughter would get along famously, she loves to build things, and is all about cats.

She carved this one in my woodshop this past spring.

Between her and my son, she is the one that likes to play baseball, ride motorcycles, hot rods, ACDC etc. funny how different they are turning out. Kids rock.

 

Ya'll nailed it. Kids are what Christmas is about and the memories of those times will get you through the tough ones to come. They don't even have to be yours, spread some cheer to some neighborhood children. They will never forget it. I did the whole Santa Clause thing and went as far as cutting a sponge in the shape of a hoof print, soaked it with water and stamped the entire deck. It was below freezing so it stayed until sun up. Between that and the empty bowl of carrots and corn they left for the reindeer Christmas morning was a blast. They didn't even open the presents until they documented the event with their cameras. Of course I told them the truth before they entered 1st grade, you can only carry it so far.

 

I would be happy if Sunny Girl would let me sleep past 6 30 A.M. Bruce.

Bruce, Sunny Girl is a dead ringer for our Maggie. Labrador Retrievers and hot rods it doesn't get any better then that. Here she is working on her tan in the Florida Pan Handle.

 

So can I assume that its a chain and a 3rd wheel on the Shadow?

I know you're never gonna put it back together so add the Vincent to my Christmas list.
