Only thing that looks scary is the brake line itself, is that a copper line ? Otherwise I could care less about anything else about the accident other than nobody got seriously hurt. If the line was copper , hopefully it has been upgraded to steel.

  3. I know a guy fixed up his 57 3/4 ton pk. 350 engine and he upgraded the brakes. new dual master cyl new lines ect. He had mounted that master cyl under the floor boards like the original. He was buzzing along listening to the dual glasspacks. A car ran a red light. He really jammed on the brakes (manual drakes) and he was gonna be able to slow down enough to avoid a wreck. Suddenly his brake pedal hit the floor. Hit the car broadside and tore it up pretty good. Come to find out a bolt that works the brake linkage was original and was badly worn. the small portion holding broke when he really jammed on the brakes.

  5. Get that core to me and enough cash for parts, I will put it together and take it down to SD with me when I go to visit my sister for Christmas. Didn't get the full story from emails and Thomas wasn't asking for any favors. We've got three weeks to get it together. Glad to help.

About the brakeline, I just replaced all the brake lines on my 49 merc 5 ton truck, I thought they were copper, turns out they were copper plated steel lines, I asked an old mechanic about that, he said it wasn't all that uncommon .

    Bump up and fresh info...
PLEASE let's keep the discussion to Highwaymans engine.
Our own Mctim64 has stepped up, there is a donor block and transport.
It's all lined up and ready to go in motion. For those interested, we need to raise $ to move forward.
If you'd like to participate, PM me and we'all figure it out.
    Thanks Gents.

I have recruted my GF and her teckkie skills to help us get a Go Fund Me page for Thomas, with his advice and approval set-up this weekend. Also, an adress for checks to be mailed to for thse without PayPal. Parts costs are estimated to be around $1500, with 'mctim64' donating his labor and transportation costs. So, we will shoot for $1500+, with any excess funds going for Thomas for his operating costs. Details to follow...

Clarification. I am not collecting funds but requested that anyone interested PM me as this is coming together.
6-bangertim, McTim64, SanDiegoHighwayman and myself are in a group conversation regarding this.
When this is set up, funds will go here.

Since the fund is "in the works", I don't believe that there are any funds collected as of today.
Offers have been made, they just need a place go and 6-bangertim is working on that.

    See above.

    Thanks guys

Don't post on the HAMB much these days, but when I do I pop in to see the original thread as it does the heart good to see someone trying their hardest to swim upstream against the current of this fucked up world.

He's a lesson for all of us to be a little less selfish. Glad to see his efforts aren't in vain - happy so many are willing to help.

  21. Core is coming and I will post pics as the work begins. Sorry it won't be a 312 but a +.060" 292 will give 301ci and with a few tricks it should move the old wagon pretty well.

I have a 312 crank here in Northern AZ. Can it be fitted to a 292, and, Where does it need to go if it can?

  23. If you want to donate I can fit it to the 292 block, actually prefered to the real 312 block, just needs to get here soon as the work will begin and we have less than three weeks. Ship to Hanford Auto Supply 200 E. 6th street Hanford CA 93230

You have got to be kidding! The HAMb is full of threads about International trucks, 48-52 Dodges, dogs, houses, Cadillacs, plus today Ryan started a thread on Pearl Harbor and you want to talk about staying on the topic of traditional hotrods???
