Some of you have probably seen this car online or in Hop Up among other titles. Tania's 36 coupe is a special car with a special story. It's the last car her late husband Steve was finishing. He passed in 2013 and in his memory Tania has been enjoying the car in New Zealand ever since taking in shows and events. I've had the good privilege to drive the car to various things in recent times with her and we've had a lot of fun together. The car was finished by family, friends and fellow Mid West Street Rods members to the guise you see here finished in PPG clearcoat over the bare metal and a traditional interior by the legendary Ian Goodwin features inside. Initial inspiration comes from the 36 Ford coupes of Jack Calori, John Mearns and Jon Fisher. Tania's runs a Desoto Hemi with four 97's and a five speed. Tania is a great gal with excellent taste in traditional hot rods and custom cars and she enjoys the car to the max. I've been fortunate to feature the car in NZV8 Magazine, the Street Machine Hot Rod Annual and also Hop Up. After staying with Acme Speed Shop's John Mearns at the Y Not Ranch in Oregon last month I felt compelled to get back on the HAMB and share the story of Tania's '36 once again. It's a special car for so many reasons - I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I submitted an article to Hop Up which they published Then at the 2015 LA Roadster Show I asked John Mearns and Jon Fisher to sign a copy of Hop Up to give to Tania Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
At the Roadster Show this year we were about to leave Waldens when I spotted John Mearns coupe across the road. I urged Tania to flag John down and he instantly recognised her. It was lovely for Tania to meet John @acmespeedshop and it was cool hearing them talk 36 Ford! We went for a ride around the block and John invited us to visit him which we did in our July trip [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

Two thumbs up to her, the people that helped with the car ,the car itself and you for being a great friend to her.
Been a while since I posted anything on Tanias 36. Recently it was a Top 25 on the Hop Up online car show. We haven’t used it for a while but took it out a couple of weekends ago. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
36 Coupes, are one of the few cars that are well suited be a custom, or a race car. I especially like them in race form, with the headlights removed. Beautiful car Greg !
Despite the common bodies used on both 1935 and 1936 Fords, the detail differences between the two have me convinced that '35s are better suited to the hot rod style, and '36s make better customs.
