    What a weird coincidence.

There's a "Fred Meijer" store chain here in Michigan.

A discount chain, biggest in the state nowadays. The pic of the newest one is across the street from where I built a lot of houses.

  13. It's already been discussed... there are/were lifts that had two cylinders that operated independently. We had them where I used to work, you'd work levers on the floor with your feet to control them. It got interesting when someone wasn't paying attention and one end would rise/fall faster than the other.

Anywhos, you could lift the car, put stands under it, then drop that cylinder down if you needed access to something.

  14. Look at how they are dressed!

I kept both my Mom & my Dad's plaid wool hunting coats (Mom's was green, Dad's was red) for years until the moths decimated them.

So anyway, my high school years were the late 60s, and that's when we all had to have "ski jackets". Nylon shell and dacron or down filled - depending on whether your parents took you shopping at Hudsons or KMarts.

Most of us didn't ski - but we had to have those really cool coats.

Went through that with Levi jackets and bomber jackets too as I recall.

Now its hoodies and baggy shorts.

    What's the world coming to?!

That makes sense. I guess I never saw one of the two post lifts, just the center lift units. I can imagine when you went to bleed air to lower, if one had a problem it could get really interesting!

  19. I worked in a shop years ago that had a two post lift. Never had any problems all the time I worked there. It was just a little tricky to run them up and down evenly at the same time. It was the bay we used for transmission jobs when we had them.
